• Lamp is handcrafted by skilled artisans in Colombia in a remote village from Raquira
• Floor lamp has a frame made from guadua
• Double-face lamp has a polyester and silk shade
• Features a top and bottom shade
• Good ventilation between the fabric and the bulb
• Includes a GFI switch which needs to be turned on properly to turn light on
• Requires two (2) 40-60-watt bulbs (not included)
• Measures 13 inches long x 13 inches wide x 68 inches tall

Story Behind the Art:

Artisans Orlando Paez and Mari Del Pilar Martinez create these beautiful lamps out of Raquira, Colombia. Guadua is a strong and resistant natural material from Quindio. The Guadua must be cut once a month before five in the morning in the waning moon, because that's when the water inside goes to the bottom and it's at its driest point. The fabric has been chosen for its flexibility, durability, non-shrinkage and easiness to wash, as well as the pyramid shape being a symbol for universal energy. There are 30 total artisans that help create these lamps.

With the money collected from the Worldstock orders Orlando has been able to send his daughter to school to continue her studies as well as English courses.
