Product Features:
Story Behind the Art:
The Pro-Teje Committee came about in 1994. The name in Spanish plays on the homonym 'protege,' meaning 'it protects.' It focuses on rescuing textiles created on the back strap loom, with which the weaver maintains the tension of the warp with a belt worn around her waist, leaning backward and forward to tighten or loosen the tension. Maya women weavers who have handed down their textile art from generation to generation for thousands of years.

Nearly Perfect
Great quality, the colors are beautiful and its texture is soft - its not inclined to pick up lint or pet hair. The size is exactly what I was looking for, and I'm getting lots of compliments already. The bottom of the bag is rubberized which will help keep the suede clean. My only nitpicks are that I'd like a lighter color fabric interior to find things, but the cinch on the bag at top (great for keeping my stuff private!) is easily unsapped to allow more room for rooting around inside. The shoulder strap is adjustable which is nice, but I'd like an extra loop to tuck the end into as it is a bit long.
