Story Behind the Art:
Thai artisan Alaya Cholprasertsuk was introduced to the arts very early. As a child, she studied drawing and painting and also participated in Siang Dek (Children's Voice), a newspaper whose writers, artistic directors, and journalists are children. She loves to design batik with earth tones. She admires dull colors, which tell about her simple, easy, and free character. She enjoys mixing colors and creating her own tones. 'This craft is my pride and my life and I think I have found my way,' she says.

There is no rod included, but is there a rod pocket, or is it just a flat textile?

The wall hanging does have a pocket at the top for a rod. The rod is not included.
