- Made from 90-percent cotton/ 10-percent silk
The series is made by an all-female cooperative in the draught-affected Marwari region of West Rajasthan, India. This cooperative is made of 272 women actively practicing this art. The artisans are distributed over the region in various villages. Profits from this art help in the overall development of these artisan communities. This region now has medical centers providing basic health services, electricity produced from solar energy, evening schools for kids and vocational colleges for women. Fair Trade practices ensure fair wages, no child labor, equal rights for women, preservation of traditional arts and development opportunities for these underprivileged artisans.

nice bag
I like this bag. I don't know that I would have paid over $40 for it, though, if I had been able to see it before purchasing it. (I bought it on sale, but the sale price was only a few dollars lower than the original price.) It's nice, not quite as sturdy as I would have thought from the picture, but I've received a few compliments on it, because it IS interesting to look at. I wish it had a snap or easier to use closing mechanism on it - it's not quite as easy to secure as I would have liked, but not terrible either - that's sort of a minor complaint. I don't mean to sound too critical of this bag. Overall, I like it. I just don't think it's quite worth what I paid.

great fabric
This bag is very well made. The material feels wonderful, and it is comfortable to wear. I like a little organization, and this fits the bill. I needed a bag that fit my style that I could take on a trip overseas and this holds everything that I am taking with me!
