Long before the Spanish arrived upon the coasts of the Yucatan Peninsula, the Maya preferred to rest in hammocks. Maya Artists of the Yucatan seek to preserve time-honored customs while also offering stylized versions of the original Maya hammock. For them, the hammock is a work of art. Their hammocks are incredibly comfortable, easy to maintain, and may be stored just about anywhere. Both men and women hand-weave magnificent and unique hammocks with colors and patterns created by our design department. 'This way we are able to fulfill our objective: to make a decorative article that will also provide a comfortable rest.'

Beautiful and strong hammock
Great hammock. Beautiful color. I bought this for my family. We've spent a lot of time in the Yucatan, and we've purchased hammocks made in the region before. This is just what I was looking for. My only wish is that I had purchased the family size (matrimonial) instead of this one! It's not big enough for the three of us to get in. Still a beautiful and well made hammock.

comfy hammock
I love this hammock. It is bright and comfortable and came with everything required to hang it. The instructions were clear and easy to follow. The only problem I have with it is that the ad says that the hammock is made of cotton, but the tag on the actual hammock indicates that it is 100% nylon.
