Story Behind the Art:
Antonio Jose, from Hammock Artisans of Ceara, has been making hammocks for over 20 years. This now allows him to offer work to over 100 women from the area. The hammock's main body is woven on a loom, and then it is distributed among groups of women to finish. They usually work from home so they may continue looking after their children. Many of the women have taught their techniques to their daughters and granddaughters, thus ensuring the hammock-making tradition is kept alive.
The handcrafted touch of artisan skill creates variations in color, size and design. If buying two of the same item, slight differences should be expected. Note: Color discrepancies may occur between this product and your computer screen.

Questions & Answers
I have always wanted one like this... Been on my dream board for a while. When I came across it, I had to have it! On top of that, I did a little research behind the company & found out who they support, what they stand for, etc.
Will this feet in a room on an 11 foot wall?
Thank you for contacting us marrrry99. In general, the minimum hanging distance for hammocks without spreader bars is two-thirds of the overall length of the hammock. This hammock is 143 inches long, so 2/3 would be approximately 107 inches. The maximum distance would be that number plus 2 feet (so 131 inches). If you are saying that the hanging distance between 2 walls would be 11 feet, that should still work, as it is 132 inches. These distances are only recommendations, and can be adjusted to fit your particular circumstances. The closer together you place the hanging points, the higher off of the ground you must go, while the farther apart you place the hanging points, the closer to the ground you can hang the hammock. For hammocks without spreader bars, 6-8 feet off of the ground is the optimum height for hanging the hammock (but that is pretty flexible). Please let us know if you have any further questions.
Is this hammock white or off white in color?
Thank you for contacting us crispy40. This hammock is a natural off-white color. Please let us know if you have any further questions.

How can you hang this on a small plaster balcony?
Hello andreamila, I would try to find where the studs are in your walls and then you would need wall anchors. I would ask someone at your local hardware store. Have a great day!
