Really unusual, most unlike anything in stores. Have some friends who are trying to find where it came from cause they want one too. Have already recommended it to friends. Thanks

Material was as it appeared online, great packable backpack to use for travel on beach vacation. Nicely lined with plenty of room inside and lots of pockets for extra items.

This backpack is appealing because of the natural fiber and handwork that went into making it. It is fashionable in the way a Prius is, or the way Anya Hindmarch's "I am not a Plastic Bag" canvas bag is fashionable. It is low-tech-natural cool. I love it, and will use it for school this year (I teach). It is BIG, and useful. It is stylish for those looking for alternative style. Go hemp.

I bought this to use like a backpack purse. It is everything it is advertised to be. I can put everything I need for a day. The straps are very comforable and is even large enough to hold the Harry Potter book I was reading. I would buy it again!!

This bag is very strong and durable. It is a perfect size for overnight trips, or groceries. I always choose hemp products over cotton for the durability and hope that one day the United States will grow this amazing fiber plant like all the other industrialized nations do.

I bought two of these backpacks I think last year. I was going to give both of them as gifts, but once I got them, I had to keep one. I have a balance problem, so I like to carry a backpack type of purse. This is quite large for this, but I don't care, it's just wonderful. I've washed this bag several times - and I probably shouldn't have done, but the fabric itself is, of course, holding up perfectly. There are some long fly-away strings that stick out of the pockets now, but I tuck them in until I can trace them and see if it'll be okay to snip them. Yeah, the buttons all fell off the pockets, but they were just held on by a thread looped a couple of times, and I didn't expect them to last. znot the way I use this every day as a purse! I bought some Vel-Cro tape and use that, although with the drawstring main compartment, I didn't even *really* need to do that. So anyway - it's a year old, I'm still getting compliments on it. The one I did give away I sent to a teacher who uses it for a book bag. I don't think it would be a great bookbag for a high-level highschool kid or a college person, because they have to carry such huge loads, but for anything short of that, it's wonderful. Just wonderful.

Great for a day pack, soccer, school. Anything you want to use it for. I got one for each of my brothers. Good stuff.

I purchased this to use on a trip to Disney World and couldn't wait to start using it. It is really nice and I think it will take the place of most of my summer handbags. This is one of my favorite Overstock purchases.

I love this backpack, it's very well made. There's plenty of room for a summertime weekend getaway or just daily stuff. It is a little scratchy, but I have other hemp products that tend to soften with use.

This backpack was exactly the way described, which is nice. It's surprisingly comfortable to wear and can accommodate a really large amount of stuff. The main downside is the closures--the drawstring close is difficult to manage (especially if you're trying to dig something out while walking--holding the bag and tying/untying at the same time is a real trick) and the button/loop closures are hard to manipulate even if you're sitting down. However, it's hemp, which is good for the planet, and it's a cute backpack if you don't mind struggling a bit getting in and out of it.

I just love these backpacks. I searched all over the web looking for backpacks that are made of all-natural materials. These not only were the least expensive, they were the largest and most attractive. I carry the first one i bought with me everyday as a purse because it is so spacious and attractive. When, one day, my friend asked if I had an extra bag to loan her when she took all of our children on an all-day outing, I gave her this backpack. She liked it so well, she didn't return it for a week and then confessed to having carried it with her all week. She loved it that much. So when I needed to get new backpacks for my two children, I not only got two for them, I bought a third for her as a "Thank You" gift. We now own three and my friend has one. They have all held up beautifully, proving to be sturdy and well made. It has many pockets to keep things organized and the straps are fully adjustable. This is a full-sized backpack, unlike so many of the others out there today. If you are looking for a backpack that won't end up living in a landfill for the next thousand years or one that will be fashionable enough to carry anywhere, this is the backpack for you!

The backpack is the perfect size for carrying especially soft items. I purchased it to wear with my casual linen and cotton outfits. I wanted something naturally beautiful and it is all that and very professionally constructed, as well. The only drawback is the fact that the 'button holes' are a little small, however, I noticed that in time they stretched ever so slightly and that's a plus. The side pockets are great for my cell phone and keys and I keep small snacks in the larger side pocket. The drawstring closing the opening of the backpack functions like a charm and there is also a 'holder' attachment if you want to carry it by your side or in a crowded area. This backpack is great for holding a paperback book, a towel and a change of clothes. It is made of 100% hemp and is lightweight and very, very sturdy!

This is a great backpack. Soft - and easy to use. I'd definitely recommend it...and I love that it is a natural product.

I bought this backpack to take with me to Arizona to use at the Gem and Mineral Show. It was so heavy that I could not even use it. It also had a very strange odor to it, probably the hemp material. I still may send it back as I can't even think of someone I could give it to. It is also very uncomfortable and front heavy, so it's not even useful. Think twice about buying this backpack! Maybe on a trek to Nepal it would work, but that's about it.

All too often, kitchen and dining room tables become a catchall for things, often because of a lack of organization and storage options. When children come home from school, the jackets and backpacks land on the kitchen table as kids head to the refrigerator. After doing several loads of laundry, clean clothes can end up on the dining room table. Mail, bills, books, phone chargers and accessories seem to migrate to this location over time. Cleaning off the dining room table can give your family back a space to come together and socialize without the presence of a TV.
Imagine that you are planning a trip that will take you from the equator to Antarctica in seven days. Now imagine that you have to limit the amount of gear you pack to 35 pounds or less. The task is getting more complicated. What kind of luggage would you choose and how would you pack for a trip that encompasses such extreme changes in climate and altitude? When Erica Davis, a paraplegic athlete, and Tara Butcher, a physically challenged athlete, climb Africa's highest peak, they will have to answer exactly those questions. The challenge: Mount Kilimanjaro rises from nearly sea level all the way up to 19,330 feet. The trail climbs from the hot bushland through rain forest, moorland, alpine desert and arctic glaciers up to the rocky Uhuru peak. A climb like Mt. Kili presents special challenges when it comes to luggage, clothing and gear. Being prepared for the weather and temperature extremes is a necessity, but it's also important not to pack too much. There is a 35-pound weight limit to each piece of luggage carried by a porter. Most climbers pack one 35-pound capacity bag to go up with a porter and one small daypack to carry up themselves. The daypack: Erica and Tara will have 7 days to summit Tanzania's Mount Kilimanjaro. As they pass from one ecological zone to the next, their needs will change and so will the contents of their daypacks. Each day Erica and Tara will repack their daypacks in anticipation of the specific challenges of the day's journey. In general, their daypacks will include things like water, snacks, dry clothing, waterproof gear and sunscreen. The importance of keeping clothing and gear dry cannot be overstated. When choosing a daypack, a small to medium backpack made of lightweight, moisture-resistant material that comes with a removable waterproof shell will be ideal. It's also helpful if the backpack has convenient access to a water bottle compartment or can accommodate a water bladder. Plenty of pockets, zipper compartments and hooks are also handy. What to pack: A sturdy but lightweight water-repellant duffel bag with a capacity of about 35 pounds is ideal for the trek to the top of Mt. Kilimanjaro. The bag needs to have room for plenty of layers of breathable, moisture-wicking clothing and layers of fleece clothing, as well as a waterproof layer. To save space, it's a good idea to pack clothing that does double duty, such as pants that easily convert into shorts. Aside from clothing, the climb will also require accessories like sunglasses, hats and gloves, plus equipment like trekking poles and a headlamp, as well as toiletries like sunscreen, insect repellent and a first-aid kit. Support the Challenged Athletes Foundation: Overstock.com and the C.H.E.K Institute are co-sponsoring Erica and Tara's climb to the top of Mount Kilimanjaro in order to raise awareness for athletes with physical challenges who wish to participate and compete in sports. Portions of the proceeds will benefit the Challenged Athletes Foundation (CAF). CAF raises funds to give physically challenged athletes the opportunity to stay active and competitive in the sports they love. To show your support for physically challenged athletes like Erica and Tara, donate now to the Challenged Athletes Foundation for the Fit 4 Kili Climb. A messenger bag has one wide strap and is worn over one shoulder, wrapping around your chest on one side and lower back on the other. Messenger bags resemble those used by postal carriers and other couriers, hence their name. Because of their styling, messenger bags can be a great alternative to a backpack, making it easier to carry large items or numerous items without straining your back or shoulders.

Packing for a cruise is not quite the same as packing for a hotel stay. While you may spend seven days on a cruise and need the same amount of clothing as you would need for a land-based vacation, you simply cannot pack for a cruise in the same way as you would for a trip to the mountains or beach. The reason for this is that the average cruise ship cabin is going to have about half the square footage as the average hotel room. Your luggage choice needs to reflect this confined space.
