kwill09 from Warwick, RI, Rating:3.0For the price, I was expecting better. It looks nice on my wall and goes perfectly with my decor so no surprises there. But the actual clock workings are very poor quality! I had to bend the hour and second hands so that they would move around properly and not hit each other. Then I put the battery in and realized that no one will be able to sleep with this thing ticking so loudly! I decided on keeping it because I love the look, but kind of useless since I took the battery out for the sake of not driving anyone crazy with the "tick tick tick". Overall it looks good but not worth the price I paid!

buddhawannab from Boston, MA, Rating:4.0Well, this is a bit odd...I ~do~ like the clock. It is very unusual. Which is what I was looking for. But it is very hard to read the face...dark, so a bit mysterious. The clock was packaged poorly, the glass face was floating around, it was chipped on the edge. The mechanism was also floating. I basically had to put it together, and secure the clamps. When finally together, it didn't work. So I replaced the supplied battery and bingo! It was so unusual I kept it. Besides, they sent the wrong item the first time, I figured it was meant to be. A lot of work, but I like it.

likesthesunshine from Northwest, Rating:1.0I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder, because I thought this clock was hideous. The metal that raps around the clock is very ugly, I would not call it white, more of a silvery yellow...hard to discribe. Also, the clock itself is very hard to read unless a light is shining right on it...very dim behind the glass. If there was an easy way to return, I would, I may try and spray paint a coppery color over the metal, but that doesn't address the dimness of the clock face. Only plus I can give it is it is very quiet.

chaplin847 from Chicago, IL, Rating:4.0The general feel of this clock is cheap and the appliques that cover the cabinet are affixed with poor adhesive that makes it want to peel. That said, the price of the item is also very cheap. So, I suppose it all depends what your looking for. I think its a good value for the money and it just plain looks nice on a bookcase, but don't expect a heavy well-built 1920s Elgin clock. Unlike some other viewers, I have had no issues with the clock or movement and it's keeping perfect time.
