Artist Rigoberto Mateos says,'I've been in contact with handcrafts form a very young age, and I've held different responsibilities that come with helping in the family workshop. I am certain that arts and crafts are the most important sources of work and tradition in my village, in the state of Jalisco.
'I'm heir to my parents' family ceramic legacy. My father, Rigoberto Mateos Ortega is renowned for improving reeding techniques on black ceramic. My mother, Gloria Campechano Silva, comes from a family of ceramists that specialize in red ceramics. Thanks to my parents' help, their experience and my personal curiosity, I am knowledgeable of the different techniques and processes required in the making of Jalisco's black ceramic arts.'

Gorgeous!
Delivery was on time, packaging was foolproof, and the lamp itself is just as authentically beautiful as promised! Love the product and would highly recommend to anyone!

Good, not great
This is a beautiful lamp, but the shade is atrocious--too small, completely wrong proportions and attached by a clamp. I had the lamp rewired, a harp installed and bought a new shade that has the correct proportions. Its perfect. I went to a lamp shade store, so everything cost more than if I'd done it myself or gone to Target or Lowes for the shade. Even if you save money with DIY and big box store, it will cost a little extra to get this lamp into shape.
