Product Features:
Born in London, John Barrow traveled to Peru in 1969. His original work contract was for eight weeks, but he ended up staying. John has always enjoyed woodwork, a craft he learned from his father. 'Living in Peru, I got to know a variety of beautiful wood types,' John explains. 'When I retired, I was finally able to dedicate myself completely to my passion, carving! I have designed my own machines and tools to help me work the wood in a different way.'

Colors in this piece are so rich!
I gave this wooden "tree of life" to my mother-in-law for Christmas. She has freestanding "favorite artwork" shelves in her sun room and displays it proudly, which I consider a very good thing as she truly has a lot of pieces of arts and crafts to display. The colors in this piece are gorgeous; deep, rich and varied, and the wood carving itself is impressive. It's large enough to be well noticeable but small enough not to overtake other pieces displayed along with it. I hope I can find another gift in this line again as I feel sure the quality would be very good.

Tree of Life Sculpture (Peru)
My husband loved working with wood and loved inlaid wood items. He knew the difficulty in creating items that were inlaid. I was delighted when the TREE OF LIFE arrived. The striking bright woods inlaid together was more than I expected--the artist is truly gifted. This would make a terrific gift for anyone.

Beautiful!
The quality of this small sculpture is outstanding. My parents have emerald green carpeting and stained glass work throughout their home. This was purchased as a gift and looks just beautiful on a table in their entry-way. Exactly what I hoped for........
