Story Behind the Art:
Some 70 years ago several fishing families moved from Madura to Java's Eastern coast because of the profusion of sea life there. During stormy weather they would mend their nets and make handicrafts. Capiz shells, or Jingle Oysters, grow like weeds in shallow sea beds. Before the fishermen got creative, capiz shells were only collected for the meat and the shells were discarded. Now nothing is wasted and they employ the shells in crafts such as these wind chimes.

Pretty but poorly made
The item is very pretty to look at, but its very lightweight and low quality.

I loved the wind chimes and I gave one away as a gift. They loved them too. The sound is lovely, calming and they appear to be well constructed and durable. The colors are pretty and they make me happy when I hear them.

Great Product!
This is a great windchime. Very pretty and looks exactly like the picture. Warm colors and the chime sounds nice not annoying. I am giving it as a present and opened it just to make sure it was okay and it was beyond expectations for the price!

I Like the sound.
I really like the sound ~ otherwise is a smallish chime as shown, I felt it was to expencive for what it is.

Beautiful.
Very pretty and love the sound. Soft and relaxing. Would highly recommend. Be careful with high winds. It was my fault and I have to get a replacement. But southwestern winds are a killer. I don't fault the item but myself for not taking it down during 60+ mph winds.

they are very pretty. I have them inside b/c don't know how the crazy weather here would treat them. but they are lovely inside, very pleased- not sure how they sound since inside...
