Add an attractive oriental accent to your decor with Worldstock's Bamboo Butterflies Are Free scroll.
This watercolor and ink artwork features a traditional rendering of butterflies pollinating flower blossoms. Each one is hand painted on silk covered rice paper, matted with fine silk brocade, and attached to a rosewood scroll rod. A silk strap hanger is attached to the top for easy mounting. The piece is painted and matted by artisans in the Hunan province, mainland China.
Story behind the product:
This factory is located in the Guangdong region of mainland China. The father is the main person in charge and employs many family members. Day to day operations are run by an aunt while the son is being groomed to take over once his father retires - all of this family greatly adds to the quality and productivity of this factory. Over 300 skilled and non-skilled craftsman work together, passing knowledge and craftsmanship from generation to generation. The working conditions of this group are excellent. The factory provides an excellent lunch each day for the staff. Attending strictly to the local and international anti-dumping and fair trade practice laws, Oriental Homes is proud to bring a piece of their culture into your home.

This scroll is beautiful! It is actually not as bright as it looks online which is great! The brocade is actually a beautiful medium gold/bronze color. Great price. I also ordered the scroll that had the baby blue brocade. I really liked the picture, but was disappointed with the brocade because instead of that pretty blue color, it was actually a gray/metal color.

I bought this to hang over my glass door insert, to stop heavy sunlight. It is very light weight so easy to hang. It does do a good job keeping out rays. The only drawback is constantly winding it up. The background color is blue, doesn't look like the pic desplayed.

Looks great, but....
This scroll is beautiful. But the background is dark blue, not dark yellow as shown. Doesn't have the pop of color against my dark wall that I was looking to achieve. Very pretty though, so I'll use it on a neutral colored wall instead.
