Product features:
During the 1970s, Isidoro C'cahuantico was forced to migrate when terrorist activities swept his region. He found himself working as a janitor in a textile factory, where 'I was completely fascinated with the work they were doing. I became enamored with the textile arts at first sight. At night, when everyone had gone home, I began to look at the looms and machines and to experiment with them.' Eventually, his tinkering was noticed by the owner, who suggested Isidoro assemble one of the spare looms in the warehouse. 'That was one of the most important and memorable moments in my life! That was the beginning of a vocation, a great gift that I have now also passed to my children. The two older ones work with me, weaving fine alpaca textiles, while my daughter makes the best crochet I have ever seen!'

suave y bonito
This poncho is absolutely beautiful--to the touch and visually. It is very warm and could be used during the deepest cold of winter with a heavier sweater underneath. Otherwise it's great too for crisp fall days in the northeast (USA). I am making a hat and scarf to match it--using yarn/wool made of alpaca from Peru! Que bueno!
