    Story Behind the Art:

    Encouraged by her brother-in-law, Balinese artist Sukaenah decided to work with bronze. Together, they began to create a variety of art works, but their favorites are characters with strong historical and religious backgrounds, such as Shiva, Krishna, and Buddha. Working with bronze in a historical context has challenged me to learn more about history and culture, which she greatly enjoys.

      Piece arrived carefully packaged. The detail and quality is amazing for the price. Would be a memorable gife for a new Mother or Mother-to-be. Wish they made one just like it...holding a dog! I'd get it instantly! Mine looks great displayed on my mantle. You won't be disappointed if you order this one.

    • Nice looking, but cheaply made

      The casting was horrible on the statue. I realize it isn't a high-quality bronze, but the rough finish and flaws were indicitive of it being an Indonesian product. I returned the first one because the casting actually had a huge hole in the back of the sculpture, and the 2nd one wasn't much better. it was a gift for my daughter, and she was OK with the 2nd one, and kept it because she loved the subject. I guess when you pay $$$ for a bronze, you get what you pay for. Don't waste your money on this one, though, unless it's going to be displayed somewhere where no one can see it clearly.
