Brass-plated Iron and Glass Square Side Table (India)

From an aesthetic standpoint, the piece looks as it does in the picture and is an elegant touch to the right room. The huge downside is the quality of craftsmanship. While most of the table is level and well constructed, the framework which holds the glass inserts are not. They are not in alignment and it causes the glass to not be level. While one end lays flat into the table, the other end sticks up and the glass rocks back and forth when sitting anything on it. This was extremely disappointing. I am going to have to either sand them down, or attempt to bend them so that they are in better alignment for a piece of glass to lay completely flat. One other thing to note, the glass is mirrored, not clear. It was my fault for not noticing this in the picture so I don't fault Overstock for this. Two of the four pieces of glass were broken upon arrival, and Overstock immediately issued me a credit which was nice. However, of the two pieces of glass that arrived safely, their mirror backing was immediately flaking off. They are NOT good quality. I ended up having four pieces of clear glass custom cut which was easy enough....but again, I will need to fix the bars the glass lays on in order for it to lay completely flat. Buy this piece only if you absolutely love the look and are ready to do a little work on your end to fix its quarks.
