Story Behind the Art:
Anyone who knew my mother knew her love of animals and I will devote my life to her causes as well. My mother, Bonny Karstadt Shah, founded the company with my father Ratilal (Ray or RN) Shah soon after they were married, in 1968. Despite my mother's passing in 2004 and my father's in 2008, I have come a fierce determination to take Maharani to a new level that would have made them proud. Both of them were dedicated to fair trade and immediately stepped in to help to rebuild homes for hundreds of villagers out of their own pocket after Kutch, part of Gujarat, was hit with a major earthquake in 2001. Both were big supporters of educating women, helping dozens of bright students get their nursing degrees, and we are continuing the dream.

not bad for the price
We got this to protect our wood floors from dog pee. It's not that attractive on the mainly white side, but looks good on the black side.

Not recommended for indoor
I ordered this rug for a child's bedroom, thinking the indoor/outdoor would be good for cleaning. I'm not terribly impressed with it. The material has a crunchy, shiny, astro turf feel. I'm happy with the size, but wish it was made of a hemp style material, as most indoor/outdoor rugs are.
