Story Behind the Art:
The Bajumpandan Women's Collective group started in 1992 by three women from a group of neighborhoods established with the help of Habitat for Humanity International. Their initial goal of producing income to pay for their families' new houses was quickly met. The ladies' designs proved popular enough among tourists and in airport gift shops that the group expanded, developing new designs. The BWC has exhibited in shows in Hong Kong, Milan, Dubai and Manila.

I liked what I got. It looks and feels a little fragle but.... it is a shell after all. It did not strike me as WOW!! but, I like it and decided to keep it. The color is a littly...muddy, I can't realy put a handle on it. Overall, I like it and would recommended though. The earings are light and it is very important to me, still pretty big. The size of the neclace is just right, goes with almost everything. Not an evening wear, more for everyday. Overall, beautifull and wearable.

My mom's birthday kind of snuck up on me - browsing and saw this, just what the doctor ordered. She loves fashion jewelry but has nothing like this. It's quite elegant, the colors are subtle and go with a lot. Have to say, it doesn't lie perfectly flat, but with a natural product like shell I suppose that's normal. I googled and it looks like black lip shell is truly rare, not just in jewelry. A great find for a picky mom.
