This silk is incredibly thin, almost paper-like. What's great is that it has "body" like a thin piece of wrapping paper would. It is not limp unless you want it to lay very flat. It literally comes in a glamor organdy envelope. That's how thin/flat it will fold down to. I'll wear mine in hot, humid weather with just enough of a wrap to keep the air conditionimg off bare shoulders.Mine will be "pushed up" as I would an organdy shawl.Basic black. of course!

The gold envelope the scarf came in was very pretty, unfortunately I was disappointed with the scarf itself. The tassels were badly frayed and the knots were undone. The material seems extremely easy to pull . I purchased this item as a gift, in the end I decided it looked cheap and purchased something else.

I got this scarf for my grandmother. I wanted to get something not too heavy, but not too light, and elegant all at the same time, and this scarf did just that. The color is a nice dark hue, and it's silky to the touch. My grandmother squealed in delight when she saw the scarf. Needless to say, it's a crowd pleaser. Thanks again, Overstock.

this came packaged nicely in a beautiful copper envelope. It is 100% silk and very fragile. I only gave the material 3 stars because of the tassels dangling. Some were not tied in knots like the others and looked sort of frayed. I was able to knot them but I'm nervous about the material holding up. REally shear and shiny. Overall it is a beautiful wrap and I love that it is handmade

This item was worth it. I wear lots of shawls, I keep spme in my office. This will not be one that I leave in the office. It's elegant with evening attire and goes will with casual attire on warm summer evenings. I am thinking about getting others for christmas gifts. I could not be nore pleased. I hope you will get more in other colors.

I ordered this shawl for a special event. Although it came from India, it arrived promptly and in perfect condition. The silk is nice quality and the embroidery is lovely.

This shawl is just as described and absolutely gorgeous! I love that it comes in the gold envelope that is just perfect for storage of this delicate item. This is very lightweight, but would look great over any strapless or sleeveless dress when you need just a little bit of coverage or warmth.This would also make a great gift since the wrapping is so beautiful. You notice that before you even open it to see the shawl.

omg! this is so beautiful. very thin, but great to wear over the shoulders at a gala event when you wear black. the pictures of my event came out great. perfect size and material is extraordinarily beautiful. shipping was a little long due to it being from another country but well worth the wait. love it!
