Bought this to match various fabrics and colours so any thing close would have worked. I have to say the colour is very misleading. It is not rust and the pattern is completely, and I mean, completely different from picture. The quilt is dark brown with red strips there are absulutly no flowers or any thing close. It is all strips and is , as my husband pointed out very manly!! He loved it. After saying all this I wont go into the trouble I have been throu' to return this item. Not only that but the wrong item was sent more than once, and the UPS label was an other nightmare.

I collect textiles and have a pretty good Maya collection, so I'm biased. Yes, it's dark, and it's lightweight, but it's exactly what I was looking for. It fits our platform latex mattress perfectly and allows me to tuck it in on all sides to continue the clean look. I don't usually like patchwork, but the color is consistent throughout and the areas of embroidery just enough to oomph it up. The pillows are all different and only one has sequins if you want to avoid too much flash. I'm going to have fun trying to identify the villages by the patterns - I already see something from Sacatepequez!

It's a beautiful pattern, and made well. The colors were not exactly what I was looking for and I am still undecided whether to keep it or return it for the blue color pattern they also have in stock.

I couldn't believe how heavy this blanket was! I had planned on using it as wall art in my bedroom, but now I'm thinking about putting it on the couch instead. I love the earthly colors and the pillowcases match perfectly. The only thing I can say I wasn't expecting was the plaid pattern on the back of the pillowcases, but who looks at the back of a pillow anyway! I still love this set!!!

Nice and big. Will choose a second pattern once I find something that coordinates. I took out the existing fill and replaced w fuller pillows and it really made them look even better.

Well, this was for a pretty specific purpose: I was looking for a reddish-orange cover for my futon loveseat which is in a rather dim part of the living room. This quilt livened up that area beautifully. Now, based upon past experience with such dyed works, I am assuming that this thing is going to bleed like crazy when I wash it, so I won't be adding anything else to the wash unless I want stuff to come out a reddish-orange hue, but as long as one is careful about this sort of thing I don't really see a downside. The worst thing that will likely happen is that the reddish-orange color won't be quite as intense after repeated washing, and as this will only serve to reveal the lovely patterns of the fabric underneath, I must say I don't see how this would be a problem :)

This is a beautiful bedspread. I say bedspread because there is no inner lining between the front and the back. It is stunning with vivid patchwork throughout and a wonderful balance of color and pattern. Runs true to size in the king. The quilt part is the hundreds of joined and gorgeous patchwork pieces, Beautifully made of nice weighty cotton.(90%). Highly recommend just know that it is not rose pastel. All colors and balanced and strong!

this throw had a very beautiful pattern and you could tell a lot of work went into making it, however there were some irregularities that i was not expecting. of course when something is handmade this should be expected, but not in the most obvious places such as the center. also, when i received the throw directly from the merchant with whom overstock deals with, i did research and found that the throw was listed on the merchants site as irregular (they also had ones in prestine condition for less than the price i paid on overstock) but overstock did not mention this - so i felt misled and a little deceived, which was disappointing because i usually love the products and trust the quality. overall though, the throw was beautiful and i decided to keep it because i didn't want to go trhough the hassle of returning it (for a shipping fee, etc..)

This quilt exceeded my expectations. There is a perfectly balanced array of colors and patterns that create a stunning piece. The quality is excellent. I would highly recommend this to anyone searching for the colors that these quilts are offered in. Interior designers take note!

I love this throw, I love the handmade nature of it. Pay attention to the size as it is smaller than it looks in the pictures, the pattern is small in real life as well. I love it though, it's just what I wanted.

I bought this quilt to have something in the living room to cuddle up in. I LOVE the colors and patterns of it. The patchwork is quality but the fabric that they are sewn to is a little disappointing. Overall though, I am really happy with this purchase.

So sad this wasn't as good as I hoped. I thought the patchwork pieces would be all woven--most were just fabric with a few woven pieces as part of the patchwork pattern. Some of the woven pieces were very loose weave and they puckered up..I was afraid those would catch and tear real easy. The biggest disappointment was the backing. One giant piece of lightweight black fabric...not stitched down, not tied down anywhere...like a quilt or comforter should be...only attached around the edges..I did return the quilt for a refund..and do have to give Overstock.com 5 stars for the return process.

This vivid blue throw was billed has having lots of detail; it was so artful and beautiful that loops had been provided to hang as a wall hanging; a work of art if you will. When the throw arrived it looked like someone had down the detail work on a sewing machine in a zigzag pattern of different colors of blue thread for most of the throw with a very small representation of the flowers shown in the picture. It had a curious odor as well. I was left no choice but to return it as it did not fit into the bedroom scheme without the detail it was billed to have. I am very unhappy because I thought this was the perfect find.

I purchased the blue w/pastels quilt after reading the reviews. I like the quilt because the style and colors are unusual. I own several traditional-looking quilts. I wanted something a bit different. I was not disappointed. The colors are vibrant. The patterns are unique. The product description calls the accent colors pastel. I'd call them more jewel-toned. I don't care what they are called. They are beautiful. I am so pleased with my purchase, I ordered another in red/earth tones. I have a way of testing my decorating decisions. I leave the room. After a few minutes, I return to see if what I did looks as good as I thought it did. Every time I enter my bedroom I smile. I made a very good choice. I read in another review that the colors faded after washing. I washed my quilt before using it. In cold water, the colors do not appear to have faded. I did encounter a surprise when I pulled my quilt from the dryer. Because the backing is secured only at the edges, the quilt and backing twisted into each other while tumbling. Material in the center of my quilt ball was still wet. After carefully untangling--I was concerned that the stitching would give--back to the dryer. No to worry--the stitching is strong. However, I have found a few spots where the material unraveled, creating a few thread balls between the layers of the quilted top and the backing. I won't be machine washing my quilt again. I strongly recommend dry cleaning to avoid this issue. The laundering drawback does not diminish my rating at all. A covering this special is worth special handling.

This throw is beautiful - the workmanship is excellent. The quality and the color in the pattern is lovely. However, I would never have purchased it, if the description had given the percentages in the blend. 90% of this throw is acrylic and the remaining 10% is alpaca. It wouldn't keep anyone warm. Correct the description - this throw is now a decorator item. I purchased another throw to use. I do recommend it, if you want a throw that is oversized and you don't want it for much warmth.

My biggest gripe with this was that it was in the duvet comforters only section. In actuality it's a quilt. The colors and pattern is really very beautiful and it's a nice cotton. If it weren't for the those two last factors I would have sent it back.... if you're looking for a fun vibrant pattern I recommend this!

This is not your typical "bed in a bag". The top is a beautiful patchwork with subtle patterns in rich colors. There is no filling and the top is not quilted through to the bottom layer, which is solid black. Without filling, the quilt is lightweight - perfect for warmer weather. It might be possible to open one side to use this as a duvet cover. It washed well in cold water on the "handwash" cycle and hung to dry, but there was a lot of dye in the wash water, so I'd expect it to fade with too much washing. The pillow covers are quite beautiful, using the quilt patterns in the background and beautiful needlework on top.

Out of all the bedding made, quilts may be the most diverse. Quilts are produced in all kinds of colors, patterns, sizes, styles and types. If you're looking for a quilt but don't know where to start, take a look at the popular types of quilts below to learn more about this beautiful kind of bedding. Amish quilts: These beautiful quilts reflect the Amish way of living and feature solid colors, deep hues, geometric patterns and very little embellishment. Amish quilts contain the highest quality of construction and stitching, and, sometimes, the wonderful stitch patterns (scrolls, feathers) contrast with the simple backgrounds of their quilts. Applique quilts: These quilts use a French needlework technique where fabric pieces are sewn onto another piece of material to create a design. Applique is used extensively in the quilting process and is not to be confused with patchwork. Patchwork pieces are joined together; applique is sewn on top of the whole piece. Baltimore album quilts: Baltimore album quilts came from Maryland in the early 1800s. Each block in the design of these quilts is appliqued differently, often in ornate floral patterns. Bangladeshi quilts: These quilts are made with layers of Saree cloth. Saree cloth is silk cloth used by women of India to wrap and fold around the body as a garment. The cloth is usually 40 to 60 inches wide by 6 yards long. These quilts are used as bedding or as decorative pieces. Bargello quilts: Bargello quilts are created with offset squares in an up-and-down geometric "V" pattern. The small squares of different fabrics and the colorful designs make these quilts true works of art. Hawaiian quilts: Hawaiian quilts are not pieced, and they usually showcase a large, symmetrical applique in the center of the quilt. Most often the background is white or another solid color. Patchwork quilts: Patchwork quilts are constructed of many small pieces of fabric which are put together in an improvised or irregular pattern. This is a well-known quilt style, and examples of historical patchwork quilts are found in many museums. Ralli quilts: Ralli quilts, sometimes known as rilli quilts, are traditional quilts made in India or Pakistan. There is an abundance of embroidery as well as applique on the patchwork patterns. Star quilts: Star quilts are created with a large star shape, or several star shapes, dominating the pattern. Wedding ring quilts: Wedding ring quilts are crafted in a design of interlocking rings. This pattern goes far back in history: in the fourth century it was used to decorate drinking cups in Rome. Wedding ring quilts are highly popular and make wonderful wedding gifts. If you're looking for a gift to please an engaged couple, you can't go wrong with a wedding quilt. Bedding always makes a significant gift for the bride and groom, and a quilt with coordinating Egyptian cotton sheets can be even better. View All Quilts Back to Guides Directory View All Quilts
