poor quality glued images smells like asphalt. wood is poor quality, black paint is petroleum based

The antiqued look of the photo showed is what draw my attention to this piece at the begining. The piece i got had the decorations in full color, not showing that old yellowish antique finish. But, i went got some water based beige paint and put a light coat on top and faked the effect pretty well. The size is convenient for an apartment or a small wall.

I really like the look of this piece from a distance. Up real close there are defects and the images are glued on the top and doors. However you can't tell from 5 feet away. I had to switch the drawers because they didn't close and once I did it was functional and unusual which is what I wanted and expected.

This is a beautiful piece of furniture, but the top trim on the left side was broken. I can probably repair it and paint over some of it, but that is not the point, it will still look like it was repaired. I do not think this was a shipping problem because the outside package was not damaged.

I bought this piece for my changing room, I use it for my lingerie. It's perfect in size, I'm going to add a shelf. The red was a bit much, made it look cheap, so I took a black sharpie and colored over most of the red splashes, it looks very nice now. You may want to line the inside, when I closed a drawer it caught one of my bras and stained it, but only when it got caught, otherwise the paint hasn't rubbed off on anything. I don't understand the reviewers who criticize the size, it's common sense to take a measuring tape and use it to figure out the size of the item before purchasing it!

this is a gorgeous piece of furniture. it is sturdy and the perfect size for the space I was seeking to fill. if handled well, this piece will last a long time. I knew what to expect in terms of structure because im familiar with Asian furniture. im certain I will buy more pieces from overstock now.

I purchased this chest almost a year ago, but didn't have time to write a review; However, I feel it's important that I express my joy of owning this piece! It has been a great piece in our hallway and I got many compliments on it. It's one of my best on line purchase and the item looks exactly the same as in the picture. I hung a mirror with the dark frame over this chest and it looks fantastic as a set! It added a special Asian touch to my household decors and I stop momentarily to enjoy it every time I pass by.

I love this oriental chest. I am using it for night stands in my bedroom. Of course when I received them, I did not look at the height, so I was a little alarmed on how tall they were. But in my bedroom I have a new look and they are beautiful. A must have. The color of red brings out the black and I am very happy with my purchase.

This was almost exactly as described. The size was spot on, and just what I was looking for. The unit is made from real wood and is substantial, not flimsy. The unit isn't what I would describe as handpainted--the decorations are copies of handpainted art and lacquered on--similar to vinyl covered trunks as furniture. It is very pretty and is just the accent piece I was looking for. Great conversation piece for a good price. Great value.

This chest arrived promptly and with the free shipping offered was a wonderful deal. The workmanship is good and the chest is sturdy. I was expecting a high gloss finish but it was a matte. I have several inquiries as to where I found it, because it is a little different (but that is what I was looking for) It could be used in a number of places in the home because it is such a nice size - I used it in the bedroom as extra drawer space. This is a very strong Storage Dresser, That is what i use it for in my room. It really looks like the picture, just that it has very good wood. By that i mean it is made out of thick wood "not processed wood" U know what i mean!! The design of this dresser was made very nice and classie. To tell U the truth this piece is worth the price and it hold up better than my own bedroom dresser that was made out of cardboard and cost me much much more. I am very happy!!!

ordered this to use in my office to store reams of paper. I can fit about 10 reams. Everyone remarks what a great piece it is. For the price, it is a GREAT value. Did have a bit of paint-like smell the first few days, but that has aired away. Strongly recommend for light to medium use.

The cabinet is a nice small one and while it is not the best quality, it looks ok and serves the purpose for what I wanted it for.

I really do love the way the cabinet looks and it is a good size. Unfortunatley, it was shipped the first time with broken legs. Customer service was great - they sent another one...still a broken leg. I think I can fix it myself with wood glue and some clamps but I'm not positive. I'm going to give it a try.

DO NOT PURCHASE THIS PRODUCT!!! Got it home and the right leg was broken as well as the top eave. Was very disappointed. Wanted it for 4 years and finally made the purchase. It looks cheap and I would not suggest it to any of my friends...Hieght was good; that is the only positive thing I can say about this...

super size small, thought it was bigger. looks like a cabinet for a 2 year old. my grandaughter can reach in it with no problem look like it could fit her. the cabinet came broken but that was the shippers fault. no fault of overstock. it's not worth the money if you are looking for a regular size cabinet. recommend for children.
