  I bought this because it is made of steel. It's not stainless steel, but I like the greyish shine. Steel has very high thermal conductivity and it performed as I knew it would. I keep a thermometer hanging in the mud room near where I start seeds indoors before Spring. Today (July 1) it was 78 degrees in there. I put the thermometer inside the wine rack - in the middle hole - and after an hour or so, the temp inside the rack had dropped 9 degrees! Perfect for wine! I wonder why it took so long for someone to realize that cool steel creates the perfect environment for wine storage. I may have to get another one!
