Twiyubake Family cooperative, located in Kayonza District of Rwanda is a weaving cooperative of 28 expert banana leaf weavers. Twiyubake has made Indego Africa's beautiful banana platter baskets since July 2008, and recently launched woven bracelets for Polo Ralph Lauren. Indego Africa started its Literacy and Financial Management training programs at Twiyubake in 2009, and the women are already flourishing with their new skills and confidence.
Indego Africa currently partners with more than 250 remarkable women in Rwanda, many of whom cope with HIV/AIDS, suffer from psychological trauma, have little formal education, care for several children, including orphans from the Genocide in 1994, and are the sole providers for their households.What is Worldstock?The handcrafted touch of artisan skill creates variations in color, size and design.
