Story Behind the Art
This handcrafted item and many others come from a third-generation family-run workshop in mainland China. Their skills of hand-painting, hand-rubbed lacquering and hand-tooling have been passed down for many generations. We are proud to support them in their quest to keep their age-old techniques alive for future generations. Many of the artists are hired out of semi-retirement to work from home, training the next generation to become master craftsmen. These masters are highly respected in their craft and their culture which have survived through many Chinese dynasties and continue to produce valuable and desirable pieces for your home decor.

Blinds
I'm very happy with these blinds. I ordered two to put in my guest bedroom and they look great. They are thinner and don't block out any light, so you may need to add curtains if you want your room darker. I did have trouble with the directions. You had to unroll the blinds all the way to find them and then they weren't very helpful. Especially since the first line of instruction say "Do not unroll the blinds until installed". I just had to figure it out myself. I rolled the blinds up again, pulled out the little clear plastic thing with the string ends from the back, pulled it around the front of the blinds and underneath to the back, then clipped it into the bottom of the thing it was originally attached to. Kinda hard to explain but hopefully that helps anyone who can't understand the directions.

Nice Product
The shade is beautiful. It is thin as you would imagine with rice paper. The box said it was hand made, so the width is not the same for the entire length of the blind. It is not too noticeable and just adds to its uniqueness.
