Bamboo Tree Shoji Accent Lamp (China)

Add a touch of the East to your decor with this 18-inch bamboo tree shoji lamp.

In the Far East, soft, diffused light is preferred to harsh direct light. Our 18 inch tall shoji lamp is handcrafted by artisans in Guangdong province of mainland China. The piece is constructed from hard, light weight Ramin wood and tough, pressed pulp rice paper. The socket is designed for a 60 watt bulb, with a UL approved socket and switch. A stylized bamboo tree design is printed onto the rice paper on all four sides.

The Story Behind the Product

This factory is located in the Guangdong region of mainland China. The father is the main person in charge and employs many family members. Day to day operations are run by an aunt while the son is being groomed to take over once his father retires - all of this family greatly adds to the quality and productivity of this factory. Over 300 skilled and non-skilled craftsman work together, passing knowledge and craftsmanship from generation to generation. The working conditions of this group are excellent. The factory provides an excellent lunch each day for the staff.
