Beats a boring metal shoe rack
We've been using a boring old expandable metal frame shoe rack and finally decided it was just too ugly to stick with. Came to overstock.com and found this gem. Looks exactly like the picture - no surprises here. It might be useful to note that this isn't finished/polyurethaned or anything. Just raw bamboo. There were no instructions included for assembly, but I had it together in less than five minutes. Three minutes were spent just looking at pieces and figuring out how they assembled. You may need a hammer to *lightly* tap together the pieces if they are too tight to fit by hand.

Just what I wanted
Looks great, works great. Nice bamboo. Not quite as easy to assemble as, say, a marshmallow on a stick, but kinda fun to put together. If it feels too tight to slip in place, just lighten up and wiggle it a little and it slips right in. Took me about 2 minutes. I bought two and I might buy another one and find someplace to use it. It's that cool a little piece!

Good For Flat Shoes
I am happy with the bamboo shoe rack. One thing I didn't think about - it can only be used with flat shoes, heels fall through the bamboo. It was pretty easy to put together and didn't come with instructions.

Very efficient; Durable; Unique Appearance
It is true, this does not come with directions. With that stated, this was put together within a matter of minutes. It is two tiered, but I can manage to fit flips flops and slippers underneath, creating extra space. I wanted something different from the usual, saw this and voila. A great solution for shoe storage for myself and my family.

Would not assemble w/o workbench
This item arrived in a half box that had had the product pieces forced/wedged into it and then they took a free USPS prioirty mail box, turned it inside out and wedged it in to cover the product in the box, and taped it together.. VERY poorly packaged. No instructions for assembly were included, I tried to figure out how it assembled by looking at the picture. The holes did not fit - if I had had a workbench and tools I probably might have gotten it together but it was just me in my kitchen. I am disappointed as I wanted to use it, but the $2 racks from *** will work as well. I don't think that OS should be selling anything of this quality - hand made or not. Also, there were a lot of splinters, which made it difficult to handle. Some sandpaper would have been helpful. I managed to get it back in the "box" and am hoping I can get the makeshift box sealed so that I can return it. I hate to do it but other than drilling /sanding the holes and trying again....
