Story Behind the Art:
Beryl Levi has loved to cook since she was a teenager. It has always been her passion to share her cooking with the world. Four decades ago she started baking patties in a small kitchen in Kingston, Jamaica. When she moved to the U.S., she found her calling - introducing the world to authentic homemade Jamaican style patties using her mother's recipe. That company became known as Tower Isles. Tower Isles actually coined the phrase 'Jamaican style patties' (declared by the USDA in its food product guide as a turnover with filling), in order not to confuse their authentic Jamaican patties with the traditional hamburger patty.

Very tasty
These meat pies were very tasty, the crust very flaky. At first I was surprised by the deep yellow color of the crust but then recalled tumeric and curry powder are used in making this pastry. The only con was that the product was partially defrosted on arrival.
