Story Behind the Art:
This rug was created in the Shandong province of China, where the villagers, specifically Mr. Chan and his brothers, work in a workshop to create these rugs. The weaving technique is hand-tufted, which is a rug making process where weavers insert yarn into the rug backing with a hand-held tufting gun to push and pull the threads through a pre-woven grid foundation. The pattern is stenciled onto the primary backing material and once the tufting is complete, an additional backing is attached to protect the stitches.

The handcrafted touch of artisan skill creates variations in color, size and design. If buying two of the same item, slight differences should be expected. Note: Color discrepancies may occur between this product and your computer screen.
