Story Behind the Art:
'My passion is woodwork, and most importantly it is really important in my life, what I really want and who I am,' Jamras Thapinta tells us. 'I grew up watching my father carve all types of things: wooden utensils for my mother and our relatives, little bamboo toys for my sisters and me, etc. I effortlessly made my first wooden toy, a little horse. I was so proud that I showed it to everyone in the village, deciding from that moment on that I would become in the future a wood expert.'

Wow! My Favorite Purchase from Overstock!
This carving took my breath away when I unwrapped it! The artistry is exquisite, and the relief panel itself is very substantial (heavy), having been carved from a single block of wood. Out of the $$$$ of purchases that I've made on Overstock over the years, this is easily my favorite item -- and this includes the Large Buddha carved tri-panel from Thailand that was so popular on Overstock and which has since sold out. I'm so glad that I was privileged to buy the very last panel available. Thank you, Jamras Thapinta, for your incredible talent, and thank you, Overstock, for carrying this item.

angel blessings wood sculpture
This panel sculpture is beautiful, looks gorgeous up on the wall, and was very reasonably priced. I saw the poor review, but the dimensions were available in the description when I bought it, and the size works fine for lots of spots in my house. I was recently in India, and the price is similar to what I saw there for Indian wood sculptures of comparable size and intricacy. The carving is lovely.
