Our oriental alabaster artisan is Mr. Mahmoud Abdel Nabi, who was born in the Egyptian countrside but who moved to Cairo and grew up there from an early age. Mr. Abdel Nabi has worked in the field of marble, alabaster and stone for most of his adult life. The ancient Pharaohs utilized this marble in many aspects of their daily lives and religious ceremonies. Its use in Egypt has been carried down to the present day. Giving work to people is called 'opening homes' here in Egypt.

Broken on Arrival
I ordered this item and was really excited about receiving it, but the set was packaged carelessly in loose newspaper and one of the jars arrived broken. I had to superglue it back together in order to use it.
