DISSAPOINTED!
 from NJ,  Feb 7, 2010

When I got my planter I loved it and was excited to use it; however, it looks loopside even though the bottom is flat and straight. I cannot understand what makes it look 'deformed'. I did not send it back because the effort of packaging and driving to the post office is too much. I will not recommend this product unless it is fixed.

Large Flower Pot
from Waldorf, MD,  Dec 22, 2009

As with other pieces, I have trouble with them on carpet. To resolve the issue, I have it sitting on a square glass plate from an old microwave and that has helped tremendously. No more toppling over. I have the same plant as pictured and it is beautiful. No assembly required and the packaging was great.

Other Ideas for Use
from Richmond, VA,  Mar 30, 2008

I received this item 2 years ago as a Christmas gift. The opening is very small, making it difficult to use as a plant stand for a live plant. I would suggest either putting a candle pillar inside or some sort of dried grass. I have a small bundle of ornamental bamboo tied together inside mine and it looks great. I am ordering another one and plan to use them as fireplace accessories by placing one on each side. I would agree with some of the other customers that the item is "slightly" overpriced. However, it's a very unique item and difficult to find a comparable item in stores.

African Wood Carved Lrg Flower Pot

I love this piece! I am not using it as a flower pot, but I have it sitting in a corner on a small leather table and it simply looks like a piece of art! WONDERFUL!!!!

Very unique item
from Wilmington, DE,  Jan 8, 2008

The item is very unique and looks just like the picture. I don't know if the opening is big enough to fit a plant or pot inside since I am just using this flower pot as a decoration by my front door. I really like the design of this flower pot and perhaps one day I will add a flower to it.

Very Pleased
from Easton, PA,  Nov 7, 2007

I was very pleased with this item. The overall size is great, but the 'pot' is a little small. I do not used it as a planter, instead I use it to hold small items . I think it is unique and a good value.

carved plant stand

the plant stand was quite small and not steady. It wasn't as tall or as durable as I had wished.

The African Flower Pot is a good example of carved products from Ghana, it is rustic and very typical of the region, I like it's appearance. It really should be described as a Flower Pot holder, as it is carved from wood, and I would not plant directly in it. It fits in perfectly with my decor, however I think it is somewhat overpriced.

Very Pleased!
 from Detroit,  Aug 22, 2007

I am very pleased with my purchase of the Ghana flower pot. It is very nice and the details are wonderful. Although it is a tad bit small to use as a flower pot, I did not purchase it with the intention of such use. It is a very nice addition to my collection.

Wonderful Addition
from Brooklyn Park, Minnesota,  May 21, 2007

I recently purchased this flower pot and it is gorgeous! I had read the other reviews mentioning the small size and decided to put a silk fern inside instead of a live one. It looks fantastic. No one can tell the difference and I have sitting next to live plants.

misclassification
 from Georgia,  Nov 16, 2006

This item is too small,it cannot hold a flower pot. Maybe I did not pay attention the the dimensions. It is actually quite nice just small. Ii would be better classified as a candle holder.

BEAUTIFUL AFRICAN PLANT STAND
from Arlington, VA,  Oct 28, 2006

As everyone stated, the pot, itself, is very small. Otherwise, it is a beautiful, very well detailed carving. It was an excellent bargain as I have seen similar ones which cost twice as much.

Picture Misleading
 from DC,  Sep 20, 2006

The carving is nice. However, the container for the plant is actually very small. It will hold about a 4" pot. Plus its only about 3" deep. The plant in the picture looks much larger than what you would find in a pot that size.

The plant stand is beautiful. The pot holder could be a bit larger. I would purchase again.

Loved it!
from University Hts, OH,  Sep 11, 2006

The flower pot was not exactly as illustrated, but better. It's very majestic. The only objection I have is that it is rather wobbly. I remedied that by gluing some of that rubber shelf liner to the bottom with spray adhesive, to make it completely level.

Flower pot was a bit smaller than expected. Nonetheless, it is indeed a unique piece that I plan to keep. The hand carving is detailed and the height is also good. Could be used as a stand alone piece as well as a flower pot.

Absolutely beautiful! I was so excited after I saw how well carved and smooth the finish of the wood is. I am 100 satisfied. The delivery was on time just as all other items I've ordered so far. Keep up the good work.
