Story Behind the Art:
Kilims are known as 'pile-less' rugs; the design is also known as slit-weave. These beautiful designs are achieved by interweaving the various colors of the vertical and horizontal strands of the rug. It can be used as a hanging piece or as a floor covering. Master World-stock weavers in Afghanistan have managed to replicate this pattern. This particular rug was made by Mr. Ibrahim and his family. They do the entire process of shearing, washing, and dyeing of the wool and weaving of the rugs within their own compound.
The handcrafted touch of artisan skill creates variations in color, size and design. If buying two of the same item, slight differences should be expected. Note: Color discrepancies may occur between this product and your computer screen.
Tip: We recommend the use of a non-skid pad to keep the rug in place on smooth surfaces.
All rug sizes are approximate. Due to the difference of monitor colors, some rug colors may vary slightly. We try to represent all rug colors accurately. Please refer to the text above for a description of the colors shown in the photo.
