This rug looks even better in person than it does in the picture! You can definitely tell it's handmade by the way it looks and feels. The only con is the fact that some "wrinkled" areas still need to smooth out due to the way the rug is rolled up for shipping. I would definitely recommend purchasing a rug pad to compliment this rug and make it feel really great underfoot.
I liked the rug in the pictures, but the colors (and the description of the colors) was off. It's okay, but does not go like it was supposed to in my living room! The other issue I have is that the rug appears to be "shedding". In high traffic areas there are clumps of wool that seem to rub off the rug, creating little dust bunnies. I have dogs, so at first I though they were shedding, but then I realized that the dust bunnies are the same color as the rug. I did a test, vaccuumed thoroughly, put the dogs away, and rubbed my foot across the rug - sure enough, a pile of wool!
Overall, I like the design of the rug, but am not particularly thrilled with the quality. Maybe a few runs of the vacuum will pick up the loose strands and resolve the issue, but for right now, I am very disappointed.
While the rug itself seems to be of good quality, the colors are not at all close to what was depicted. I had noted a similar review, but thought that perhaps there had been a one-time mistake, and the other reviews were positive. Unfortunately, I should have listened to the one negative review that warned of the misrepresented colors. The rug is listed as "Red/Navy" and the colors in the photo are vibrant. The rug I received is dark rusty red/brown and navy that is almost black. It is a very drab, dark brown-black tone rug. I am attempting to send it back, but have been referred out to a special large purchase division that was not open the day I called. I will have to wait 2-3 business days to find out how the return will be handled. Very disappointing, little bit of a headache.
This was beautiful rug at one time. It is considerably more green than photo shows, but still beautiful. The problem is that the rug was not well taken care off and it is full of stains that look like cigarette burns, but are likely just dirt. It also has a yellow stain across the width of the rug on one side likely caused by being just under a piece of furniture. The rug looks like it was of great value when first made, but it has not been handled well when used. It is a shame really.
The quality of this rug was very very poor. I won't even get into the issues regarding delivery…that's another story. Let's focus on the rug. When it arrived, the first thing my husband asked was, "are you sure it's the right size?". He was right to question this. It was packaged the following way: rolled up as appropriate, THEN folded in half. There are two issues with this. When you fold a rug in half, you risk putting an indelible crease in the rug. It also indicates the POOR QUALITY of the rug. If a 9 x 12 rug can be folded in HALF after rolling it up, then it aint worth 1000 dollars. When I started removing the plastic, I noticed immediately that the edges of the rug appeared worn and discolored. Yes, it looked as if someone sold me an old, worn, poor quality rug for 1000 dollars. Now I'm completely capable of recognizing an antique…this was not. It was junk. Shame on you Overstock. The only good thing was that they paid for the return shipping. I recommend that ...
