As much as we hate to admit it, summer is winding to a close and fall is right around the corner. Now is the time to take advantage of the handful of weekends we have left of long days, warm nights, and that general carefree feeling that summer brings.
So how would you take advantage of your remaining summer days? Around here, we've decided that it's the perfect time to plan a summer date night. Whether you're looking for a night out with your spouse, significant other, or maybe even a first date with someone new, nothing says romance like a warm summer evening and just the two of you. Start things off right with a picnic packed away in this adorably romantic heart-shaped picnic basket, packed with champagne and sweets, and let the evening go from there.
My advice for the perfect summertime date night is to take advantage of the long summer evenings outdoors. Look for fun activities in your area, like festivals, concerts, or even outdoor movies in the park, for you and your date to enjoy together. Personally, I think a game of croquet at the park is the perfect way to get to know each other better. It's fun and simple, and it gets you to interact with your date.
Of course, you're going to want to look good, too. The key to dressing for a summer evening out is to keep it simple and casual. For women, a basic dress, like this denim dress from Sandra Darren, is perfect. It's simple yet flattering, and you can dress it up or down. Personally, I'd pair it with these orange peep-toe pumps and a skinny belt.
For guys, a nice button-down shirt, like this one from Calvin Klein, dresses up your jeans just enough without getting too dressy. Besides, a pink shirt is more manly when it's called "paprika," don't you think? A clean shave goes a long way, too, and straight razors are becoming more and more popular because they give a closer, cleaner shave.
What does your perfect summer date night entail? What's your favorite date you've ever been on?
