As a novice, I really appreciate the large sweet spot on this driver! I was having trouble hitting reliably with smaller cc drivers, but this one is so easy! The appearance of the driver is quite attractive, as well. Very similar to a FTi square driver, but at a much lower price. I highly recommend it.
I like the club. Swings nice and easy and was great the first time out.
My drives increased in distance and accurracy. I think this driver is one of best investment I made on golf equipment this year. I didn't want to spend a lot of money on the unknown, but I was pleasantly surprised. Except for getting use to the appearance of the head, I had no problem with the club.
Received the driver as a christmas present from my father. First ball hit went straight and about 300 yds. Played a round with it today, and it hit great and sounded evil! As long as you can control your swing (SWING EASY!), you can really bomb this club. Considering getting the 3 & 5 woods also.
As a slicing terror, my game needed straightening off the tee to retain any hope of progress. I obtained this club with a stiff shaft (I now realise a 'regular' would have been more suitable, as my swing is less than 90mph) and the offset version, at 9.5 deg loft, as I hit the ball too high, and not far enough. The slice vanished at once, and my confidence soared, actually pushing some shots without it disappearing into the next county. I have had it for about 3 years, and I now want one in a reg shaft and 10.5 deg loft, still offset, to perhaps get more distance? (Don't get me wrong, I can clear 250 yds already) Or am I being greedy?? My handicap has gone from 26 (March '10) to 19 (Jan '12). I love this club. I want to have its babies.
- How accurate was the sizing? Spot on!
- Please tell us about the quality of the product. As good as any branded club!
- Was the product free of any manufacturer defects? Yes
Upon receiving The Idrive Square Head driver I was somewhat startled by the condition of the shipping carton. It was badly damaged but to my surprise the contents were unharmed . It only took two rounds of golf to realize the full potenial of this club. It's easy to hit with drives of 275 yards or better coming with ease. Thanks Overstocks.com .
I just got this club, the offset version, and took it out to the course. My natural draw was still there but near as bad. I can work the club right and left. My buddy hit the club, it's his first year golfing, and even tho he hit the ground first the drive went almost 200 yards, in the fairway. A very forgiving club, easy to hit, long. The only thing is, it makes a loud PAINK type noise when you hit the ball. It seems everybody on the course can hear it. And it looks as big as a hubcap on the end of the shaft. But hey, I can handle that as long as it keeps doing what it did for me today.. I'm replacing my old Cobra driver. Now I'm looking to get an offset 3 wood.
I am new to the game of golf, only been playing a couple of months. When I received this driver in the mail I went to the club to play, and well, lets just say that all that came out of the mouth of the other people that were playing with me was WOW!!! I hit the ball further than anyone of them, and they have played for years!!! Love it, it's GREAT!!!! Thanks for having a great price on it Overstock!
I got this driver in the spring and liked it well enough. The driver will not cure your slice. Unfortunately it has started to come apart. A crack has appeared in the head right behind the face on the lower edge of the driver after two months of standard use. Some of the paint on the head has also chipped off. Definitely get a head cover for this driver.
Before this club, I never hit a driver well. This club is easy to hit and I highly recommend this club which rivals both the Nike and Calloway versions. (only $300 cheaper) Only drawback was that it didn't come with a headcover. I also bought the 3w and love it as well.
Great Driver added 20 to 30 yards to my drive. Only complaint is the grip which is no big deal easy enough to change. Definetly deserves four stars and the price was great for the value.
Just starting using the club, and being a notorious slicer, found it pretty easy to control, and was hitting straight shots into a 20mph headwind at the driving range, so i was impressed. Definately worth the buy.
Weight and feel good. Disappointed at first with fade BUT as I made adjustments to my allignment and take back drives staightened out. (driving range) It does not perform magic - if you have a bad slice it won't change the spin on the ball. Next time out I will bring old Cobra with me to compare distance. For short money it is worth trying the square head.
I've been playing golf for 40 years. I played high school and college golf. Currently have a 12 handicap. I know what I'm doing and I generally play well. This is the worst golf club I've ever owned. I couldn't get the ball into the air. Everytime I hit it the ball it went right into the ground, 50 yards off the tee. Do NOT buy this club !!!
Wow, what a pleasant surprise. Straight and long, even mis-hits went true. Shape was a bit distracting at first, but quickly got used to it.
I found this club to be very hard to control. The weird square head makes it hard to align the face of the club with the ball. It took me awhile to get away from the slice but once controlled I was over 300 yards. As others have said it makes a nasty sound when hit.
I guess I am like most golfers, a sucker to new products. This club looks odd from address, sort of like a sandwich at the end of a stick. The large head does give you a sense of confidence though. I've only hit a few balls with it and that's why I only gave it 3 stars for durability. Only time will tell with that. The few balls I hit did go straight and far (the trees in my backyard stopped them too soon however) and I have not swung a club since September. I'm leaving cold New England for a golf vacation in sunny Florida in a couple of weeks so I'll know more about this club then. For the price the quality looks good, it's worth a try.
fantastic driver, very forgiving. I would recommend it to anyone. Looks great and a great value.
Cub arrived in good time and condition. Purchased as a gift and the golfer seems pleased with it. He went to the range to try it out that day and was so impressed he scheduled a game with his pals upon his return. Cannot attest to durability.
A nice club. It has a bit of a funky sound when you hit it. But if you put a good swing on it, it goes straight and true. I'm not a real long hitter but I now make par 5's in regulation on a regular basis due primarily to getting a good drive in the short grass. I am more comfortable off the tee than I have been in years. A good investment.
