    I bought 2 of these for grandchildren who were going on a trip. They, absolutely, loved them! It opened up a new world for them. They were so excited! Their new favorite thing to do is to go "treasure hunting". We live in a beach area. These are nice because the bottom sensor part and halfway up the shaft are waterproof. The kids can check the sand along the edge of the water and it doesn't matter if they get wet. Great past time for kids!
