You can't go wrong--the combination is saved in event of power failure (competition defaults to the factory setting...think a thief could figure that one out?), light (competition charges extra), and a visual que (sound optional) that you have hit a key. I have two of these and would not hesitate to buy another or recommend to a friend.

We love this safe! It is the perfect size and quality. It was easy to program and is quick to open. A light on the interior is an added bonus.

This safe is perfect for any gun owner with children in the house. It has plenty of room for a gun, magazines and ammo. The keyed and combo entry are perfect in the event you forget the combination (so long as you remember where you hid the keys). There is a light inside of the safe and the LCD is illuminated for easy night-time access. If someone guesses the wrong combo 3 times the combo access is locked out until you use the key (perfect for curious children).

Nice safe for one or two handgus. The Optional DC charger is nice, but I run it off of batteries (would hate to get locked out due to power shortage). Great overall value!

Although some other reviews' comments about the location of the battery compartment gave me pause, I bought two of these safes -- one for myself and one for my cop son. Yes, the battery compartment is a bit inconvenient, but if you turn the unit upside down while installing batteries, so that gravity is on your side when reassembling, it's a breeze. The safe's appearance is only average . . . but how attractive do you expect a GUN SAFE to be? For long-term storage of a number of weapons, I'd look for something larger. But for a very convenient place to store your carry weapon when you get home, this is a very nice unit. Put it up on a bookshelf (you don't need to see the top to open it), and the kids are safe from hurting themselves.

This is a great product! I installed it in my truck and now when I have to leave my Glock in my truck I don't worry anymore about someone breaking in my truck and stealing it. It is secure and easily accessable with one hand. Best price around and don't forget to look for a coupon code to help save in the cost!!!!!

We purchased this for a hand gun, so we wouldn't have to worry about our children gaining access. This is an excellent, economical hand gun safe. Love the spring loaded door that opens automatically once the access code is entered. Also like the lighted interior and alarm that goes off if one of your kids is pushing buttons trying to get into it.

This item is a must for households where safety conscious gun owners, hunters, and law enforcements employees have small children in the house. You must have one of these to give you peace of mind when away or at home. . Simple to use in the middle of the night and secure enough to leave in plain sight. Strong box, w/ personal code and alert signal when tampered with.. Holds your service weapon and ammo. Good deal and a must for children in the house, visitors or occupants.

This is the perfect safe to keep by the bed. It is easy to open at night (in the dark) and the door opens quickly for easy access. The audible alarm is great if the kids (or someone else) tries to open the safe. I prefer the EV600 over the EV400 as it fits my 9mm better and has a little extra space for ammo without taking over my bedside table. If you plan on putting bigger guns or additional items in the safe, I recommend the EV1200.

I had looked at this exact model at a local merchant. This was the same product with a savings of at least $20. I am a first time user so I also received an additional savings. I am hooked.
