Assembly required an incredible number of screws of different sizes; product was missing some of the required screws. Most of the points of use for these screws required a power drill to insert. There were very few pre-drilled holes. Composite wood construction split in many areas when drilled. Assembly instructions were not clear. The product required 3 college graduates (one skilled in construction) 3 hours to assemble.
- How accurate was the sizing? Accurate
- Please tell us about the quality of the product. Very low quality compared to similarly priced product in big box store
- Was the product free of any manufacturer defects? NO; and It required much more effort to assemble than indicated
We ordered this for our Grandchildren. It was a huge success! They loved it. It was a challenge putting it together, but well worth it. No parts were missing and all of the games worked just fine. I anticipate many years of use. It arrived when it was expected. Every part of this purchase was wonderful!
It has brought my kids hours and hours of fun! It's a great table. Only problem is putting it together. It has over 365 pieces. Some peices were labled wrong, and some weren't even labeled. We used the picture on the box, trial and error; and with patience it all came together. We are missing a few pieces but my kids haven't even asked for the pieces. They love the air hockey most!
I would recommend this to a friend ONLY if they were prepared for a long tedious assembly and understood the following. Plan on: (1) not having all of the required parts. Be sure to check the parts with the inventory list before you start assembly. We were missing a few pieces and one piece was broken. The manufacturer sent us the parts that we needed, no questions asked. But it took about a week to receive. So if you are buying this for a birthday present, for example, you have to factor in that extra time. (2) spending 3 to 6 hours assembling. Seriously. It took us the good part of an afternoon. But we did it watching a football game. Stopped for lunch. Etc. If you're in a hurry to get it done, you're setting yourself up to be really frustrated. For some of the assembly, we needed two people (one person to hold something while the other used the drill, etc). But most of it my husband did on his own. (3) using a drill. For some absurd reason, the table does not have any drill holes, and it needs them. You will NOT be able to assemble this with just a Phillips screw driver. (4) wondering why on earth the instructions are so inadequate. We used the "instructions" as a guideline and then did what we thought made sense when the instructions didn't exactly work. We got it together, but it really is mind boggling that the instructions with this are so lame. Also, know that this is a table for younger kids. This means that it is not a full sized air hockey table. It's smaller. It's perfect for my 8 and 6 year old boys and it doesn't take up all of my living room. So I'm perfectly happy with the size. But if you're picturing a big table, you'll be disappointed. Lastly, I think it's actually quite decent quality when you keep the price point in mind. I think/hope that this will last for a while. But this is not a great quality piece. With all of that in mind, my boys love it and are so excited to play with it. It was a great birthday gift - but only because I was prepared for all of the above since I'd read a bunch of reviews on the product. If the manufacturer would improve the instructions and make assembly easier, they could easily charge twice the price.
This was a Christmas gift to an 8-yr-old and a 5-yr-old grandson. They were very excited to receive it, however, Dad is still putting it together. Lots of work to assemble.
