Valor Fitness BD-6 Safety Squat/ Bench Combo Rack

I needed this versus the full cage because my basement have a low ceiling. If you have more headroom, I recommend a full cage or full power-rack. That said, this is a good system. Feels solid and durable. I use it mostly for heavy sqauts, shoulder presses, bench press, high pulls, etc... The things I didn't like is the adjustable safety arms you see in front. They are a bit too short to provide you with 100% insurance against disaster - still plenty useful, but can't trust that they will catch the weight if I miss a bench without extra effort to push the bar forward for example. The instructions for assembly suck :) It was fun putting it together. Enjoy.

Good rack for the money. Easy assembly and medium tough. It's not club quality, but it certainly does the job. Handles everything I need including benching and squatting. I wish it had more holders for plates, and the adjustable spotters aren't wide enough to feel very secure about, although they are nice to hold the bar for shrugging and curling. Overall this rack is well worth it and I recommend it to those who don't do real heavy lifting.

I just got this rack yesterday and put it together with my two young sons in about an hour. My first impressions were that it was a well built, solid, good looking rack. The welds are good and look like they will hold even after years of use. I am 6'2" and the bar positions are nicely spaced with no problems to find a comfortable position for all exercises. My only complaints are: the paint was chipped in several spots on arrival but they do include a small bottle of paint to touch up. Also, the assembly instructions are useless. They consist of a small picture, with hard to read numbers and NO written instructions. If you have any mechanical skill at all, this will not be a problem but keep in mind that there are 2 different bolt sizes that must be placed in the right holes or the rack will not go together correctly. There is only about a 1/4" difference between the bolts so make sure you save the longer bolts for areas where brackets will be placed on both sides of the tubing.
