• Was the product free of any manufacturer defects? some defects,handy man could adjust while putting together. Some of the holes for screws were incorrect.

This was a nice wooden kitchen- great size for a small space. My 2 year old and 5 year old both enjoy playing with it. The only flaw I can see is that the cupboards are difficult to open and shut. Hopefully they will loosen over time.

I read another review that said that the construction of this was really hard. I disagree. It was challenging, but I have a few suggestions. One- when installing the knobs consider if you want them to turn or not. If you drill in too far, they will not turn, but also the wood can crack around the predrilled hole. The thin pieces of wood that compromise the back of the kitchen and the inside shelf are super thin and "fit" into a super thin track that they are supposed to slide into. This can be difficult to make it line up and stay stable. Do not tighten down the Allen bolts until everything lines up perfectly. I am still struggling to get the two bottom allen bolts all the way in. I may have to size up the allen wrench, but at least the thin wood is where it is supposed to be and it can pop out easily when constructing. I did add wood glue to all the dowels to help strengthen the joints which was not suggested in the manual. Lastly, the cabinet doors were the the biggest challenge. The picture on the box has the handles all facing top to bottom, but the instruction manual has the oven door handle facing left to right and the other handle up and down (as seen here). Unfortunately the predrilled holes on the oven door would still make the doors open left to right. What oven door opens left to right?! I moved the hinges so the oven door pulls down, but then considered that perhaps it was a safety issue (if a child were to try to stand or sit on the door for example). Either way, the shelf in the oven is visible through the hole in the door and looks odd, so I may add black paper to the hole to hide the shelf. Since I changed the location of the hinges on the oven door, I had a heck of a time getting the cabinet door to line up correctly with the oven door when closed, but, well, I brought that on myself. Although in retrospect, the sample I saw in the store did not line up perfectly as well and they had all the doors opening left to right. I did use wood glue on the inside shelf since it seems very unstable in that location. It remains to be seen if it will stay. If it does not, then I will remove the shelf and find some shelf dividers at the home store and just lay those in. Our daughter loves this kitchen already. She is younger than the suggested age on the box (4+) but she loves the play kitchen at daycare, and I wanted to get her a wooden one. I found this one at another vendor for a heck of a deal so gave it a whirl. My local vendor was out of the wooden pot and pan set, which I intend to buy, but we got fruits, vegetables and a sandwich set of fabric from ikea for a good price that goes well with it size wise. I would say that for the money it is great. Little more work and added instructions for the raw wood for fit would help those who are not good at it and takes two people to assemble.
