For solid wood blocks, I was expecting a much heavier package. I was concerned about "crummy pressed corkboard" blocks, but all is well. They're lovely and look hand crafted, and comes in a small, easy to store box (if you put them all back right). For "75 blocks", its really a very small box. It says "3+" , but the instruction manual included for the "super pretty castles" is something best left for probably the 6+ ages. However, the boy in my house who is about to turn 3 still enjoys building and stacking and seeing how he can make it connect and fit together. It's pretty good, but if you're ordering for someone at the you gets suggested age for the toy, you might have to wait a couple of years until they can get the full enjoyment out of it.

These are great. All wood. It's a pretty small set, so I bought two, and my kids use these along with the old school wood block set from when my husband was a kid. They can make quite a kingdom. Really cool, and a good price. My kids are 3 & 6.

The modern graphic packaging is what drew my eye to this product at my local Bed Bath and Beyond Store during a Christmas shopping excursion last December. I wanted something androgynous and challenging for my almost three year old son and daughter twins. These blocks were a promising choice in the neutral packaging and natural wood finish, despite the model being a boy. With my 20% off coupon in hand, I was excited to buy the blocks and show my kids how to start designing buildings like their mommy. Gender Neutral Finish The blocks have a natural finish and can stand up to the inevitable chewing on by my younger girls. This finish gives them more freedom in their imagination and play with them. All of the blocks hold more play potential because they are not ruled out of a building scenario because they are pink or yellow. Without the coloring, the kids can focus more on the composition, which was my intention. Quality Pine Material Pine is a dense soft wood that holds up to wear and tear well. The graining in pine adds a unique quality to each set. The pine blocks also hold the stain details very well. They are made in China, so it is hard to tell exactly which species and they are not a local product to me in Lawrenceville, GA. Unique Shapes The shapes in this set are carved well but also maintain the aesthetic of the basic building block shapes: cube, cone, plane, and cylinder. The carved lines imply a roof without calling them a specific material. This also adds to their play potential. The shape with four columns connected by arches is the most architectural and ends up in almost every one of our builds. Graphics Stained, Not Carved The window and door graphics look so real at a distance and in some of the advertising images that it can be easy to assume they are carved cut-outs, but they are stained only. This was not an issue for me because I think it makes keeping them clean easier. The children identify them as windows and doors all the same. ...The Bottom Line This is a great block set. I would definitely recommend this product to others looking for a unique block set that appeals to both girls and boys. It was worth the money and I hope to add more of these sets to our block collection in the future.

Overstock has great customer service! I ordered the blocks during Black Friday and UPS delivered them to the wrong address. I called customer service and they immediately sent me a replacement package and took care of contacting UPS to find out what happened to the original package. The replacement package got lost by UPS so I had to call customer service at Overstock again. They were incredibly nice and would have shipped out another replacement, but they didn't have the product in stock anymore. They issued a refund and followed up with UPS for me again. I didn't have to do anything at all! I did end up calling UPS though to find out why they had so much trouble delivering this package when they delivered all of my other Black Friday packages from Overstock just fine. There was a new driver in my neighborhood and for some reason he kept delivering it to the wrong house. In the end, even though I didn't end up getting the blocks, I couldn't believe how amazing Overstock's customer service was! They were always nice and helpful and I didn't have to do any of the work to fix the problem.

After his new bike from parents, best giftt on Christmas! My 7-year-old grandson's played with it all day. Good indoor toy left to child's imagination to enjoy. Hope there will be more products like this from this company to add to the set. Priced reasonobly.

Just opened them today for my grandsons. They took right to them and immediately enjoyed building their own castles. The blocks are individually a little smaller than I expected but the enjoyment was just as large as expected.

We really like the product and enjoy building however we bought two sets so we could make different castle and the larger one mentioned on the box that said you would need to sets for BUT NO instuctions. I have spent several hours trying to find more building instructions on the internet and NOTHING found. READING and FOLLOWiNG instructions or building plans is good for children. My loves legos and can sit and build buy himself do to the great instructions. We these blocks he wants help to build. MORE instructions and building ideas would be nice.

Nice wooden block set, nephew really liked it. I think it was a good deal but wish there were just a few more blocks, seems like a few more would allow the.kids to make better castles. But again its a great set, I would definiyely fet it again, but if the kid seems to really enjoy playing with it cobsider coming back and getting a second set. It doesnt come with a storage box or bag. nephew loves it!

I bought this for my 6yo nephew, who likes building but isnt too fond of legos. He gets frustrated with the small pieces, and the "jumbo" size legos arent challenging enough. So these were perfect. There are a variety of shapes to make creative structures, and the pieces seem built to last. I was worried because some people had mentioned that they needed two sets to build the castle in the picture, but that is not true. All the pieces are provided. Great buy!

These are wonderful blocks for creative play. They were used by both my 6 yr old and 3 yr old grandsons. They had so much fun creating their castles.
