I have been using metal detectors for years!! I thought my father would have a great time with one as it is a great way to get outside and get some exercise. After comparing lots of brands and different models, I purchased this Treasure Cove metal detector. It seemed like the most bang for the buck. I was right! WHAT A BARGAIN!! This metal detector has turned out to be as good as other detectors that can cost two to three times as much. My father uses it daily, has found all kinds of things, from coins to rings and best off all, he has found a great hobbie and I have found what I am going to give as Christmas gifts this year. I would HIGHLY recommend this!

This "Surf Metal Detector " is great fun at the beach. The unit is light weight and easy to use. My first find was a rusty bottle cap. The unit has great volume so you can hear over the ocean waves. Just another fun hobby to have fun in the sun. Would recommend.

Appears to work as advertised. Lost my wedding ring in our very large yard and decided it was cheaper to buy this rather than buy a new ring. Found my ring in about 30 minutes of searching with the metal detector. Look forward to trying it out at the beach next summer.

My friend and I decided that we wanted to try our hands on a little treasure hunting. So, I came on here ( overstock.com ) to see what was out there. That is when I came across the Treasure cove sand and surf detector. I could have never imagined that it would work so well as it has been. My very first find was a dog tag. I also did find a gold ring with a ruby center piece and 2 small diamonds on each side. That is my best find so, far. We go out 2 to 3 times a week and we try to go to different parks and beaches. We had never had so much fun like this before. It is so well worth the money and more.

Product was defective rught out of the box but the mfger overnighted a new unit that is great.

I bought this for my 14 yr old hoping to start him on a treasure filled journey since he enjoys treasure hunting so much. The battery didn't last long and it was kinda flimsy for the price. He lost interest after a few weeks due to the head ache of keeping it charged enough to work.

I received the metal detector a few weeks ago but we live in Minnesota and the ground is still frozen. We did try it out in the alley behind our house and found some bottle caps and such. Can't wait for better weather to really try it out.

I purchased this for my brother-in-law for Christmas and he was delighted with it. I do not know if he has used it as yet but he has wanted one for a long time. It was smaller and lighter than I expected but with today's technology that is not a bad sign. It is a good way to get exercise and find possible treasures at the same time. It has a comfortable grip that will not tire the user's arm too soon. I did not rate the durability high as it has not yet been used

bought this for my husband who is disabled to help him get out of house.has wanted one for years. very good quality item he loves it and can hold it ok and still walk has a foot 1/2 gone so has problems walking and holding stuff. but this does ok. would recomend it to others also bought a child size one for my grandson to use with his grandpa.

It's very lightweight and easy to use. Within a couple of days a neighbor was needing something located, and we were able to help. Found it!! within minutes. Looking forward to many enjoyable hours.

If you like metal detecting, this item is great! For starters it not only work perfectly, but it's affordable, especially in comparison to some other models out there!!! I spent the other day walking along the beach with it and I actually found something...it was nothing super spectacular but good to know this thing actually works...I can't wait to get out there and see what I find next!

My son had lost 2 good throwing knives in the grass a week before we got our metal detector. We had looked for the knives for an hour with no success. The detector located the knives easily in just a few minutes. One knife was buried about 2 inches under the dirt. Fun to play with but haven't found any gold in the backyard ...yet.

Good product. Reading the instructions are important to dial in detector. Takes some time to do this, good idea to keep them in your pocket. Still working with detector to find coins. I have found lots of trash metal so I am getting closer to the adjustment needed.

I bought this for my wife for Christmas. We live by the Atlantic Ocean and she loves to beachcomb. When she saw what it was, she was extremely excited! She can't wait for warmer weather so she can go find "treasures". Our daughter-in-law is also thrilled. She said "Mom, we're getting up early and hitting the beach before anyone else does!' .
