I have Meniere's which makes it hard for me to just walk out the door and go for a walk. I'm always afraid I will fall down. Not wanting to not be able to keep moving, I bought this treadmill in hopes I would be able to walk in my bedroom. I've had a couple of "used" treadmills and was never happy with them because the handles were not long enough to be of help. This treadmill is perfect. easy to put together. Easy to used and I feel safe with the handles being there for me to hold onto. I'd buy it again and would most certainly recommend it.

I bought mine January but haven't been able to use it till just recently due to my health. I've been on it a few times a week. My first problem is the on/off switch quit working. My second problem is there was absolutely no paperwork in the box when I got, I have no way to contact them or return the part that's broke for repair/swap. Hope there's some way you can get me in touch with these people.

I wanted a wide, well-built, low cost treadmill without all the bells and whistles that usually turn out to be wasted money. The Exerpeutic TF1000 Walk to Fitness Electric Treadmill more than fits the bill.. I was able to assist the delivery driver, who had a hand truck, with moving the package inside. Track the package online and if you cannot have help available for delivery, make sure the local delivery service is aware beforehand that they will need 2 people and a hand truck to unload. Well packaged, mostly assembled and very easy to unpack and setup. Be careful attaching computer board to frame. Although wires are now preattached, not using care when stuffing wires behind circuit board could no doubt cause problems later. Wheels work for moving unit but could be a little larger for use on carpeting and 6.5' power cord could be longer. Height of safety handles fit me OK (I am 5'10") but I can see where taller people have complained about it. I often just set the back of my fists on top of the handles or use my fingertips when walking. Pulse monitor is convenient on handles but you must grab both handles correctly and give it a while to get up to actual rate. Centering belt adjustments are sensitive and, unlike instructions, no more than about 1/16 turn with wrench, then actually using treadmill for some time, is key when adjusting. Minor beefs aside, I found this treadmill built for heavy duty use and without useless internet links or cheap speakers. Computer, while basic, includes important features like timer countdown shutoff and target pulse rate alarm. It is very quiet, especially good when watching TV or listening to music. It is wide enough that I can use it with my dog. Safety handles are padded, plenty long with nice, wood end plugs. The handle mounted controls are very convenient and useful. Altogether the Exerpeutic TF1000 Walk to Fitness Electric Treadmill is exactly what I was looking for and a very good value for the money.

Very good quality treadmill for the price!! Like that the pulse rate is measured by gripping the hand rails. Also..nice that the speed & start stop can be controlled from this same area. Very low noise level...you can barely hear it running!

So far, this seems to be a good treadmill. It is a good size, folds up nicely and is easy to move. Just a couple of negatives, the belt tends to wander after a few miles which requires adjustment of a couple of screws and the control panel turns over while in use so I am constantly readjusting it so I can see the display. For the price, this is a good choice.

I am elderly and have physical limitations but needed to start exercising and this treadmill is wonderful. Speeds go slow enough that I am able to get some exercise without fear of injury. I love it. Best purchase I have ever made!!

I absolutely love this treadmill. I get as good a workout as I do on any gym quality piece of equipment, and I never have to leave the house. Would definitely recommend.

I was pleased with the prompt delivery of the product. It took awhile to put together. Very disappointed in the speakers on this system. They give out poor volume.

The treadmill is quiet and easy to operate. It folds up for easy storage. The instructions were kind of hard to follow, but a majority of the treadmill is already assembled. I am 6'6", and it is a little on the short side for me even though I have adjusted the height of the treadmill, but I am able to get a good workout on it for a walking treadmill. It also has a magnetic safety key to stop the treadmill just in case you feel unsafe during a workout on the treadmill.

I had to do a lot of "research" to decide which one to buy. I'm glad I decided on this. Just what I need for a walking exerciser, a simple one but good enough for a 73 year old, 5'1' lola. Very easy to assemble, .took only 25 minutes for my nephew to set it up & running. Easy to read the dials & numbers. My only complaint is if I set the speed to 2 & above, it is noisy but tolerable, I can still hear the TV. The treadmill of my daughter is more expensive but as noisy as this one if speed set higher than 2. I just love shopping at Overstock. Very prompt in delivering items & if I have complaints, easy to deal with them.

My old treadmill was destroyed in Sandy. This replacement does not have all the extras the old one had, like a CD player, a fan, programmed walks with automatic incline. It's a great buy on a basic walking treadmill that still tells me distance, time, calories burned, heart rate. It was mostly assembled and I needed help putting the arms on, opening it, etc. I am very happy to be able to walk when the weather is bad.

LOVE my new treadmill. I read all of the reviews first and every single one of them was positive, so I took a chance on buying this treadmill and I'm glad I did. It is a very good basic treadmill that does exactly what it says it will. I use it 7-days a week!

New variations of tried-and-true exercise machines are always being introduced to the market as the technology of exercise equipment improves. Two exercise machines that have gained popularity are elliptical trainers and treadmills. A major advantage to elliptical trainers is that they possess little risk of injury to the knees, hips, back or ankles. Meanwhile, treadmills are home gym machines on which you can run, walk or jog. The treadmill has been in the marketplace for a long time and is a long-standing piece of standard equipment for most exercise enthusiasts. Elliptical Machines: Elliptical machines present a lower risk of injury to the body. This home gym machine allows the individual to stand in an upright position while supporting her upper body by holding onto the handrails. The individual is able to pick out what muscles to train by shifting the strength on the legs or the arms. This provides for a more flexible workout machine. The machine bears its name because it works to copy the foot's elliptical motion as well as the rotation of the hip during walking or running. Advantages of Elliptical Machines: Since elliptical machines work the upper and lower body, they help you reach your target heart rate more optimally, providing a better cardiovascular workout overall. Individuals can burn a larger number of calories in a shorter period of time. Muscles that benefit from this machine include the legs, shoulders, chest, biceps, triceps and the back. Elliptical machines are also relatively easy to operate and are energy efficient because they do not use much electricity. Treadmills: Traditional treadmills were developed to help you walk, run or jog. Treadmills differ in advantages as there are some machines that have programs that can be customized based on your weight and fitness level. You can also manually control the program to increase or decrease the speed, the incline or the duration of the workout. Walking on a traditional treadmill, however, creates more impact on the knees and hips and may be a cause of injury for some users. Advantages of Treadmills: Some treadmill models have a cushioned surface to support the knees and other parts of the body. With these models, there is a lower risk of injury and an increased level of comfort for the user. Moreover, treadmills provide you with the option to run, jog or walk in the comfort of the gym. Also, you can burn calories by increasing the heart rate, providing a good cardiovascular workout. Buy Home Gym Machines Back to Guides Directory Buy Home Gym Machines

They help you lose weight and tone your body, but elliptical trainers do it in a way that is less stressful on the joints than stair climbers and treadmills. If you're looking for a great cardiovascular workout that tones your arms and legs and is easy on your joints, an elliptical trainer, also called an elliptical machine or an elliptical cross trainer, may be the way to go. There is no shortage of choices in home elliptical trainers, from gym-style cross-trainers to mini-steppers. Select an elliptical machine based on your goals, your fitness level, your finances and the features you desire in a home gym machine.
Elliptical trainers mix elements of treadmills, stationary bicycles, stair steppers and other exercise machines to offer a full-body workout (also called a total fitness workout) that minimizes joint stress and other negatives, giving the user the best workout possible. This elliptical trainer buying guide will help you figure out how to buy elliptical trainers that best meet your needs.
Elliptical trainers allow you to burn about the same number of calories you would by jogging. However, you can exercise on an elliptical trainer at any time, no matter what the weather is like outside. In addition, using an elliptical trainer instead of a treadmill or other home gym machine helps you avoid injuring your knees, hips, back and ankles. There are several types of elliptical machines available. By making an informed comparison, you can select the best home gym machine for you.
