I bought this for my husband as a Christmas gift from my three-year-old who really wanted to get her daddy a "lake fishing pole." My husband travels a lot, so I thought this would be good for him to stow in the car for impromptu fishing opportunities. He has already had the chance to use it once and said he liked it. I wouldn't recommend this for anyone who would be using it regularly. As other reviews have pointed out, the quality is just so-so; this is not a top-of-the-line piece of recreational equipment. However, I do think the occasional fisherman might enjoy something like this. My husband said it was also easy to assemble as well as taking it apart to put back into the carrying case.

Would recommend people to buy this product but not from Overstock because it Took them a full 5 business day to process and waited another full 7 business day to receive product. Anyone where else would have been less then 2 business day to process and ship....

The rod is OK but the reels are cheap. You get what you pay for. Not the best quality as mostly the case with "Made in China". May last a couple of seasons. Reels have a lot of plastic, not sure how much wear and ear it will take.

Purchased as a gift to a friend that has everything---I am not personally into fishing, but he is. He was very pleased with the quality, presentation and features of the product.

This travel kit rod and reels is just what I was looking for as a gift. It was given for Valentine's Day. He was very pleased to receive it. However to date he hasn't been able to use it. He really liked the fact that it would travel well under the storage seat in his truck and the case would keep the gear secure and in place. Yes I think this is a very good value and I would recommend this to anyone who wants to be able to keep their fishing gear close at hand and out of sight!
