This is a good bike for the money...that is once you get over the fact that it's not exactly as described. The fact that these are not 700cc wheels is my biggest issue with this post. Thankfully I looked up the bike on other websites and realized this. Eventually I decided to make the purchase anyway. Bike came in less than adequate packaging however. Both wheels had significant lateral movement. There was also some play in the crankset (huge problem if not addressed immediately). The wheels themselves felt cheap, there were no yellow decals, and the tires left me wishing for more. After taking it to a shop and dropping ** they were able to straighten it out and tune the bike. It rides very well and is definitely worth the price especially when compared to similar priced bikes at Target or Walmart. Just keep your expectations in check, aside form trigger shifters there is nothing 'elite' about this bike.Read More
My wife bought this for me. I have been riding a bike to and from work weather permitting for the past seven years. This is a great bike and rides very nice. Assembly was not as easy as they say it is. I had a hard time with the front breaks, they kept rubbing then I changed the way they had the wires hooked up. That seemed to stop the rubbing. This was one of the best gifts I have gotten. I love it!Read More
I needed an inexpensive mountain bike that would fit my 6'2" frame. I am 225 pounds. I thought this bike would be good b/c it looks like a solid mountain bike in the picture. UNFORTUNATELY, i was not able to zoom in on the tires. The tires are ROAD bike tires not MOUNTAIN bike tires. The description is inaccurate. If you need a good starter road bike, this is a solid purchase. If you are looking for a mountain bike.....LOOK ELSEWHERE. Thankfully, I have a teenage kid that needs a good road bike. He just received an early birthday present from dad! Overstock wanted to charge me $XX to return the bike.....simply ridiculous!!!Read More
I was very excited to take the bike out of the box and ride. That's not what happened. First of all the rear tube had a hole in it, so I had to buy one the next morning to even get the bike assembled. I'm sure I could have sent it back but didn't want to wait two weeks. After that issue was fixed, I had a really hard time adjusting the gears and brakes. They were so far off that the bike was almost not rideable. After a few hours of YouTube videos I now have it working fairly well. Still needs a tuneup but not as bad. You would be much better off to take the unassembeled bike still in the box to the local bike shop ans have them set it up. Overall pretty happy with the bike, I just wish I knew what it was going to take to get it going. About 50 miles on it and no defects so far.Read More
I looked everywhere for a bike before buying this one and i haven't regretted it yet. I needed a bike to ride to class and recreational biking for est. 20 miles and it works great. Plus it looks cool, I've got so many compliments about how nice it looks and knowing I spent way under retail for it - makes this bike even sweeter. The only suggestion for potential buyers it to have the bike tuned up / fit professional (local bike store), because suddenly jumping on a bike after 5 years does not do the body any good! Good luck shopping!Read More
