The hitch is nice looking and looks like it will last a while but does not fit a 99 GMC Jimmy with a spare tire. It should be noted what vehicle the hitch will fit. I had to purchase and extender to make hitch wrk on my vehicle. I would recommend hitch for a vehicle that does not have a spare tire that sticks out past the rear bumper...
This carrier is very sturdy and so far has met my needs of transporting my bike around town. I believe that I would feel comfortable using it on a longer trip as well. I especially like the fact that I am able to take the carrier on and off the hitch without assistance. It is a little cumbersome - but I can manage alone.
One surprise was that it was necessary to purchase additional hardward (hitch coupler) to be able to use properly - but it was a minor additional expense.
Overall - I would recommend.
