The versatility of the pack overwhelms any shortfalls it might have. Whether I'm taking a 2-day hike or a week long camping trip, the pack has enough storage and attachments to suit me. The covers on the zippers keep most of the rain out and the top rain fly is effective. The nylon sides seem a little light but the pack itself is large enough for a sleeping bag in the bottom compartment, and 30+ lbs in the upper compartment (12 pk, clothes, Cormac McCarthy) and the padding on the straps makes for a pretty comfortable fit. Good pack overall.
