My family & I love this tent. We're outside longer, now, than we've ever been.

Sorry but if a tent says it fits 9 people, it probably fits a family of 4 comfortably. You know you have all your stuff in it and everything and you usually arent sleeping military style. We had a king size mattress and a full size and we had plenty of room to fit all our things and more people if we wanted. I love that Im able to stand up in it, at 5'9 and that it has alot of ventillation. Many people said the steaks were cheap, but the ground we were on, was soft and they worked fine, I think they are standard. My only complaint was that the zipper on the door kept catching on the tent fabric and also it really needs a bag for storing, but for the price Im very happy.

We bought this tent for a family beach trip after reading the great reviews. It wasn't very windy at all but the plastic screws in the joints bent at the end of the first day of use. It broke the next morning. We even lowered it at night and had it anchored with sandbags.

Perfect for three grand kids under 6 yr old. Makes camping in the family room a breeze. Holds lots of toys and rubberized liner catches all the spills and saves the carpet. Big open windows

I bought 5 of these tents due to the compactness, size and price. They will be used in the families multiple emergency kit backpacks (72 hour kits). I will be waterproofing (spray) them before use. I am impressed with the vestibule. The tent appears to be roomy enough for one person plus a lot of gear. I suppose that two people could fit inside (if you really like the other person) but not much gear along with the two. I would recommend this tent to those wanting a good, compact, light weight, inexpensive tent for hiking, biking or emergency needs.

My 16 year old son loves this tent. It is light weight and airy. It's great for hiking or just sleeping in the backyard.

Everything was as expected, this was an inexpensive tent, but came with a nice carrying bag. Overall design of the tent was good. The problem was during set-up one of the long poles broke where it was inserted in to the ferule. I was able to fish the broken piece out of the ferule and use the pole even though it was now slightly shorter. The the pole in one of the awnings broke by itself. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this tent because the poles are a flimsy fiberglass or something similar, and they split and break easily.

Very pleased with item. This is great for taking on family outings from watching kids games, picnics, waterparks, beach, etc... Looks nice and love that you can zip it closed to use for changing room. Would be a great gift for families that get outdoors to shade little ones. Also great for day fishing to get out of the sun.

Great product. I've been wanting to purchase one of these tents for years rather than renting or borrowing. It's the perfect size for family events.

This tent is an excellent family tent. Easy to put up and very well made. The floor is durable and the general construction of the tent is very good. A rain test with the sprinkler in the backyard found no leaks. This is not a backpacking tent. It is on the heavy side so I wouldn't want to be carrying it through the bush. The tent was sent in excellent condition and arrived very fast from Overstock. (ordered on 07/01 and delivered on 07/03 - via standard shipping)

I purchased this tent after the zipper on our Eureka Tetragon 9 failed twice during trips - the second failure after Eureka sent me a new zipper pull. We got along with safety pins and a blanket pinned over the door to save that trip. But I'm through with non-outfitter-quality tents. Car campers don't need ultra-light, and it's worth it to pay extra for a #10 zipper and two doors (the Eureka had one) if you have kids or anyone who might enter and exit the tent a lot without being gentle to the zipper. The fact that this tent costs less on overstock.com than its lower-quality competition in camping stores makes it a deal you should snap up now, before it's gone. Besides the zippers, it has 11mm fiberglass poles, one size heavier than usual, a floor almost twice as heavy as the non-ZF model of this tent, and a fuller rain-fly than many tents. We were familiar with Alps Mountaineering quality from their camp chair, which is rated for a person weighing up to 425 pounds! I only weigh 200, and don't worry about our 10-year-old jumping into my lap on that chair! We put a queen-size inflatable mattress and a double-size inflatable in this tent, leaving little floor room but we all sleep really well that way. The tent is 8x10 and the doors are on the long sides, which means that they'll be on the front and back if you use big mattresses as we do. However, they are big doors, and they open opposite of each other, so the back one will admit the person on the left without much disturbance to a person on the right, and vice-versa. The ZF model has no side windows (which the non-ZF Meramac seems to have from the photo I've seen). The windows in the doors are large enough. There is no way to close the mesh vents at the top, although the rain fly will be over them. This will mean that your tent won't get internal condensation, but might be a bit colder than one with zipper flaps over the vents (like the Eureka Tetragon). The next time we do camping with 40-degree nights, I might try throwing a polyester blanket over those vents, under the fly. This tent seems taller than the Eureka Tetragon 9, and the attic is smaller than the Eureka. There are two pockets. Since my family likes more storage than tent attics and pockets ever provide, I bought two Zen Class Travel Organizers to use inside of the tent. No rain test yet. Meramac 5 ZF FG Specs: Base Size: 8' x 10' Center Height: 6' Tent Area: 80 sq. ft. Tent and Fly Weight: 14 lb. 3 oz. Total Weight: 15 lb. Packed Size: 8" x 25" Pole Diameter: 11 mm Sorry that the software has discarded my paragraph breaks! At least in the preview I saw. Overstock.com guys, please fix that.

Took the family out for our first camping trip. My 2 boys(9&13) slept in one and my wife, toddler, & i slept in another comfortably. It took about 12 minutes to put up the tent. So simple, not alot of moving parts so not much can break except i was so excited when theyarrived I accidently cut one with a box cutter but fixed it with duck tape. It still did the job. I highly recommend this tent for first timers your will get your moneys worth.

The tenet was extra roomy with good air circulation. No leakage detected during and after rain shower. Dried quickly. I will be making this tent my home away from home when camping. I'm a happy camper !

This tent is super-easy to put up ... we figured it out faster than the person reading the directions. My main complaint is how small it is ... somehow it just looked bigger in the photos. I bought this for my family at the beach and unless it's for a baby (we're all teens/adults), this is just too short and too small. An adult must sit on the ground or one of those low beach chairs to be inside and even then only one person can really fit completely inside. Plus, it gets pretty hot in there since 2 of the sides are closed and it sorta traps the heat. I realize opening an extra side would make it less stable and less protective, but for our purposes, it failed. Other than for a baby, I'm really not sure what the purpose of this tent is.

I purchased this product for my son and his family as they do a lot of trailer camping. I wanted something that they could use in areas where bugs were a problem during outdoor meals. My son takes this shelter with him when they camp and they put it up over their own outdoor table, or over some of the tables in campgrounds - depending on their size. The kids love to play in it as it seems like a tent but they are visible to their parents! My son commented that the assembly was EXCEPTIONALLY easy, and it almost popped right up.

This item came recommended to me by a close personal friend. My family and I camp in a small trailer, which is only large enough for my wife and daughter. We park the trailer under this awning and the size is perfect. When its just my son and I, we usually put it over our tent so we dont have to use the rainfly and everything around the tent stays dry. We also use it at home in the backyard and occasionally at our kids sporting events. It is so much lighter and easier to set up the our old bullky ez-up style canopy, so we end up using the Cottonwood a lot more. It was just too much work to lug that big old canopy around, this one I can carry easily since the bag has a shoulder strap. We have also used this on the beach. Pros - packs small, lightweight and easy to carry, easy to set up, very strong on windy days, and no leaks in at least two rain storms. Cons - none really, except they could offer it in a few more colors. Overall we love it and highly recommend!

We got the tri-awning to take to outdoor swim meets to keep us out of the sun for long days by the pool. The tri-wing shape allows a breeze through, but easily makes enough shade for the entire family. Setup with two people is under five minutes (even if one of the people is a kid). By myself I can set it up in under ten minutes. It's easy to move, and it fits in awkward or non-level spaces that a square easy-up tent can't. The fabric construction seems great. The poles are not as beefy as they might be - but even trusting the bag to the kids I expect they'll last a few years. Then we'll just replace them. We discovered this weekend that it's also completely waterproof - got stuck in a rain storm and ended up with a dry spot in the very middle where the rain didn't blow in from the sides. It's easy to roll back into the bag, and the bag is small and light. Overall we've been thrilled with the tri-awning.

I got this for my family and it worked great. Best feature about it is that it sets up in 30 seconds. Amazing! Great quality and we like the detatchable floor. SPF of 50 is also good for hte kids. I'll use this on every beach trip (which is once a week)

My family and I used this last summer on our beach vacation. Well worth the money I paid for it!! Didn't take very long to put it together once we laid it out. Held up to some super strong wind and some rain!!! Would definitely reccomend this product.

Tents are an essential and useful piece of camping gear, for sure, but many frustrated campers have cursed their camping tent as they've tried to set it up in the dark without proper preparation. Camping and hiking should be enjoyable, and they certainly can be if you know how to set up your camping and hiking equipment.
