It's a good bass for the price overall. The only problem is that it buzzes right a way. This is not an uncommon problem with new instruments and can cause issues when recording. I was teaching a friend and she noticed it right away. I like the five strings, however, because one can play it more like a guitar and you can get the higher end notes, which I personally like. Also the volume control is a bit week, I can't really get it to go up very high, which is not bad for recording, but terrible for live performances. Strangely though, being teal, it kind of has it's own personality and the friend I'm teaching bass to, even despite the apparent buzzing still loves it.
