I'm primarily reviewing the trekker as the classic is exactly what you'd expect, a tiny swiss army knife with only the basics. The trekker on the other hand has good and bad points:
Good:
- the attachments are high quality, with a sharp blade and good quality steel
- the knife has a solid, sturdy feel and i would have no concerns about using it as my primary camping knife
Bad:
- the safety locks for both the blade and the screwdrive/bottle opener are hard to reach and very hard to press down to unlock. every time i try to fold the blade down i get a painful mark on my thumb from pressing down the lock mechanism
- the handle, although sturdy feeling, is VERY easy to scratch. after just a few days in my backpack next to pens, wallet, phone, etc, the handle is scratched up all over. not a big deal, but it definitely make the knife look quite shabby and old.
i haven't decided yet on whether this was a good purchase or not, the reliability will be the deciding factor, but i definitely am not impressed by this knife.
