We've only had a chance to use the bike rack once, and it worked well. The only issue I found was the design where the ball is to be fastened to the receiver tube. The receiver tube is cut at an angle and you can't get a wrench or socket in there to torque the nut on the ball as required. When I contacted Swagman about this issue I was not impressed with their solution, "Jam a screwdriver inbetween the nut and the tube and tighten the ballside." Not exactly the best way, how can you properly torque the ballside?? My solution was to remove a very small (approximately 1/8"-1/4") of the metal from the bottom side with a grinder to be able to slide a socket on the nut. Then repaint the bare metal to protect against future corrosion.Read More
This rack was sold to us by a trailer place and mounted to a hitch on the back of trailer. Three out of four bikes did not fit. Bought adapters so women's bike would fit. the bike were properly mounted as per directions, yet the moved wildly on the hitch. The pin in the receiver can not be adjusted. other nuts loosened and could not be tightened. We were pulled over by the police, because they thought there was a safety issue. The bike closest to the hitch bent the hitch and fell out, thankfully it was chained to next bike. the bike and trailer were scatted in this incident. On cross country trip, bought a different brand and style from Walmart, ***, wheel tie down. working very well.Read More

I ordered this bike rack and couldn't wait to receive. We attempted to put 4 bikes on rack however it wasn't going to happen. 3 of the bikes were considered over-size frames so the rack wouldn't close. It is better suited to slender frames with maybe 1 oversize.Read More
I bought this to use on my Jeep Liberty which has a rear spare tire. I bought an extension so that I could use the bike rack. I wanted to be able to tow my camper behind the bikes. You can not, so this is not the product I thought it was. I don't like the fact that it doesn't have a lock or the fact that the top plate that holds the bikes in place has three knobs that must all be screwed down to hold all the bikes in place so when you unscrew this all the bikes are loose at once. I also had to purchase cross bars to put on my womens bikes. It does hold four bikes however and the quality is good.Read More
Well made, sturdy and able to handle four bicycles without concern of product failure. The tilt feature is great since I use the hitch on my F-150 Supercrew without obstructing access to the tailgate. I did add some some additional scratch resistant tape to the mounting points considering the kids are not as careful when loading and unloading the bikes.Read More

How to Use Cycling Shoes
Cycling shoes are designed to improve a cyclist's performance. The sole of a cycling shoe has limited flexibility, which helps a cyclist concentrate all his or her power on pedaling. Cycling shoes also have special cleats that clip into clipless pedals (a very misleading name) to prevent the shoes from slipping off and allow you to pull up on your pedals, increasing your cycling performance. Once clipped in, the bike shoes will remain attached until the cyclist is ready to disengage. Cycling shoes are specially designed for various styles of cycling, including road racing, spinning, touring, off-road biking and mountain biking. Road-cycling shoes usually have slick plastic soles that aren't designed to provide traction. Mountain-bike shoes, on the other hand, look more like regular hiking shoes and are more suited to walking.

How to Buy Cycling Shoes
As with most sports, cycling has an array of gear made specifically for it. Cycling shoes, for example, are designed to help a cyclist perform better. While regular tennis shoes or sneakers slip on the pedals of a bike, cycling shoes grip the pedals. The stiffness of the soles of these shoes combined with the ability to fasten to the pedals of the bike allow for optimum efficiency when cycling. If you are participating in cycling, it is necessary to buy biking shoes to get the most out of bike rides without wasting energy.
Bicycle Helmet Safety Fact Sheet
Bicycle helmet safety is the key to minimizing head injuries while cycling, either for recreation or commuting. Some states do not have bicycle helmet laws, although about 150 municipalities nationwide have bike helmet ordinances on the books.
